Description

Mustang Bungalow 4MI is a spacious one bedroom one bath condo. The bedroom has a queen size bed and the living room has a new 32" flat screen TV and full size futon sofa. The total sleeping capacity is 4 people. There is a full kitchen equipped with everything you will need to cook your catch after a long day of fishing. The grounds are nicely manicured, complete with mature citrus trees. There are fish cleaning facilities on the property. The beach is approximately 2 blocks away but close enough to feel the gulf breezes. PETS NO LONGER ALLOWED AFTER NOVEMBER 8, 2023!!!

Happy and disappointed at the beach

It was clean and close to the beach but outdated decoration and most furnishings. The shower handle is from 1972, outdated kitchen, rusty fridge. The toilet paper holder is rustier than a submerged nail and it smelled like the place hasn’t been aired out since the 70’s. The closet door falling over. Just being honest

4 day weekend

This is the second time that I have stayed in this unit. For me the location is the most important as it is close to my family's place. The condo is if fairly good condition. I was glad to see the old key lock was replaced with a modern keypad lock. Can't really give a review on the management company since I never had any real
contact with them.

Photos not as accurate as I would hope

It appears that the photos included on Vrbo/Expedia are fairly old, as most of the wear and tear visible when walking in the condo is not pictured in the advertised booking sites. For example, significant rusting and water damage was noticed. There was not as much natural sunlight that reaches the inside of the apartment as we were led to believe, and most lighting provided yellowish light compared to the bright lights seen in the photos. The blinds in the bedroom were broken so you could not turn them open. Fan in the bathroom did not work. Most concerning was the presence of BLACK MOLD on both sets of vents in the living room and bedroom. I would also refrain from saying this would comfortably sleep 4, unless you want to use the living area for 2 of your guests and have no privacy. Rental agency also gave incorrect check in information (was told there were be a door code to enter, but nothing was there to punch in a code). We needed to call and have someone drive over with the keys. At least we were walking distance from the beach.

Overall was a good place to stay. The condo did need some minor repairs but was in good condition. I would like to see the old key lock replaced with a modern programmable lock that could be changed for every guest. It was an issue keeping up with a key while at the beach.

Winter of 2023

We were very happy with our rental experience the condo was clean everything was in working order the people they were friendly. It we were happy with the location. The condo was as advertised the only complaint we have is the mattress on the futon was thin and lumpy and uncomfortable the mattress in the bedroom was absolutely wonderful the rental company was extremely helpful when we had a little problem with forgetting my billfold in Minnesota but otherwise we will be back

Nice and comfortable

The kitchen is a little small but it came with everything. All we had to do was buy some groceries. The bed was comfortable and it was nice for 3 adults and a dog. The air conditioner was amazing. The shower was perfect. The property came with a barbecue pit. Will stay again.

Great location

Had a great time with the family. Upon arrival the unit was clean and the property seemed well kept. Parking was great as well, there were plenty of spaces available. There was enough dishes and lines for our stay.

Decent place for a short stay

Rental was clean & cozy. Provided a whole kitchen setup which was cool. Unfortunately the bed was very hard & the TV in the bedroom didn't work. The towels were rough & it was almost 80° when we arrived.

Great Location, Terrible Bed!

This property is in a great area, good for dogs, clean but dated, nice daily price, great AC, stocked kitchen but the futon and bed are terrible for your back. Others have complained about the bed, they need to upgrade the mattresses in the bed and futon. Also the keys are labeled MI which looks like M1 so you are not sure if it is M14 or MI4. We talked to other guests who was also confused. It would be better if labeled MI-4 or MI#4.

If you leave a message a day or two before to inquire about early check-in. Don't be surprise if they do not get back to you. We We showed up an hour early, front desk said that the message system is received by reservation office but the front desk did not get any message so we had to wait outside 45 minutes after our 4 hour trip. When I picked up the keys they said take out the trash and put dishes in the dishwasher before leaving. There is NO dishwasher in this condo.

We had a great weekend regardless but left with sore backs and we are active people.

Place Accommodations Review

The condos are nice and roomy but don’t expect to go there to relax. If you’re looking for a quiet place to rest, this is not the place for you. I tried to read and relax but, the neighbors at 3, 2, and 1 made it impossible with their yelling, music, smoking, and other annoying antics people do when they’re drinking.

Cute little condo

The condo was a lot more spacious than I expected; plenty of room for the two of us. Super cute, quiet, and people around were nice. Very close to everything. Really the only complaint I have was the bed wasn't super comfortable, but I padded it with blankets and that was solved. Also no outdoor shower, so things got a little sandy.

Fishing trip

This is our 2nd time renting from the mustang bungalows. This one was nice and clean. We like it bc the location is great and it has a fish cleaning station on location. We would recommend this place to couples and small families. We will definitely be going back.

Great Getaway

Decent, but not a great value

The place is fine; no complaints really, but I think it is too expensive for what it is: there is no pool, no path to the beach, and the kitchen and bathroom are tiny. In trips past, I've paid just a little more (like less than $50) and had a pool, beach trail, and much more space.

Nice condo

This was a nice, little weekend getaway for my family and me. We were very pleased with this unit, better than others we have stayed in the same complex in the past. Everything as stated in description. Great value. Only complaint was the front screen door was super dated/noisy. We felt like it disturbed neighboring units and our sleeping toddler. And key pick up lock box was a little confusing, maybe operator error.

Stayed for Sandfest

Our stay was nice and low-key. Plenty of towels for everyone, it was nice and clean. Everything needed in a kitchen was there and ready to use. A/C was perfect, no bugs. Beach was within walking distance. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great stay!

We stayed here for a long weekend with our 11-year-old dog, and would definitely do it again, especially at this price. The condo is not huge, and it's certainly not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's nice, clean and quiet. We were only a 10-minute walk from the beach, and an easy drive as well. There is a queen-sized bed in the bedroom and a full-size futon in the living room. We had plenty of clean towels, and the kitchen was great (except no dishwasher). Port A Escapes was very helpful and even loaned us a grill for the weekend! We will definitely stay here on a return trip.

Sweet and simple, no internet access

We stayed for a weekend in October with our dog. Our room was clean and well furnished. There were plenty of dishes but no other basics like salt/pepper. We did enjoy using the fish house to clean the fish we caught. When we arrived we discovered there was no wi-fi, even though the Port A Escapes app said there was. After calling the office I was told that the app just shows default wi-fi information that doesn't necessarily apply to the room you are staying in. I was also told that if the rental description does not say "wi-fi" that means there is none, in other words, no where on the rental website does it say "no wi-fi", it just excludes the information all together. I would have considered other places to stay in Port Aransas had I been made aware of the internet situation. Also it seemed like some of the apartments had permanent residents living in them, so I felt uncomfortable leaving my dog alone in our room a few times, knowing that he barks when he hears closing doors and that he was disturbing the residents who live there full-time. I thought the whole building was made up of rental rooms but that wasn't the case. Overall it was a pleasant stay, the pillows were fluffy, but the lack of provided internet in 2015 was disappointing.

Fun Birthday Weekend!

Not bad!

We had a great time in Port A. This apartment was large enough for me, my husband, and my two young daughters. It isn't the Ritz-Carlton, but for the price it was a great place. It reminded me of my old college apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals in. The reviews are right about the bed, though. It is pretty uncomfortable. But otherwise it was a great place. If we go to Port A again, I would definitely stay here. It is not close enough to the beach to walk, but it's a short enough distance enough you could ride a bike or rent one of the many golf carts on the island.

Everything in the unit was great except there's no cutting board. One tip, when you unfold the futon, you have to be careful not to touch cable power on the back of futon bed. I accidentally touch and removed from the outlet, so my kids couldn't watch CN for the stay.

San Antonio Family Spring Break

Nice and clean

This condo was very clean. Just the right size for two people. Beach access was a little far. We decided to drive there. Had everything we needed to eat and cook with. Would definitely stay there again.

Great for the price and location

The Bungalow wasn't anything fancy, but it was exactly what we needed and expected, especially since we basically needed a place to sleep. It has a great location near the beach, pet friendly, and everything we needed for a weekend getaway at the beach.

Not bad for the money.

The condo wasn't bad. The appearance was nice and the kitchen had all the utensils needed. The place was clean, and it has a good central location. Here are the negatives I found. The bed was very hard. The TV had poor reception. I would still go back though.

Relaxing vacation

We were pleased with our rental. Very happy that our dogs were able to join us. We were able to check in early, thank you. Place was clean, everything worked. Very short drive to the beach. Staff was very friendly & helpful.

Great price, great location

We had a great time on our stay in Port A. The location was great, the overall appearance and condition of the condo was just what we expected... it was a perfect fit for us. 2 adults, 2 kids (ages 14 and 9). We will definitely be back!

This is the second time we have stayed at this place.I think the sleeper sofa needs replacing. Extra pillows need pillow cases. We will consider staying there again. We haven't had any problems with the residents.

they did the best with what they had

The place is really small. It is nicely decorated and clean. We stayed with our 2 little kids and had enough room. I think with 4 adults it may be a little much. It's definitely not a place to hang out in, but if you just need a spot to crash at the end of the day it's perfect, especially for the price. There wasn't enough bedding for the second bed, so take a blanket and only one teaspoon, so no 2 people eating joghurt at the same time. It smelled a little damp too. We had friends stay at a different location and really only slept at our place. One night we got back too late and didn't get a parking spot anywhere. It would be nice if each unit had one assigned spot, but oh well. It's an affordable place to sleep overall.

i would stay again

bigger than we thought it would be. about 10 minute walk to the beach. the price was very economical for the value of the condo. the local neighbors are extremely friendly. 2 things, tho - behind the unit is a swimming pool at the place next door and they can stay up pretty late. however, it was july 4th weekend so I guess you have to expect it. also,the futon is not that great to sit on, although I usually blame that on personalback problems. very clean with access to everything you need. getting the keys was super easy.

Fun, friendly & very clean!

Our stay was very enjoyable. The room was ready a couple of hours prior to our check in time which was very convenient. The grounds were kept very well ' the staff was very friendly. Will definitely being staying here in the future.

Awesome stay

The place is very clean, cute, has everything you need Plus beach chairs, umbrella and boogy board. Also the place is literally 1 mile from the beach. It's easy to ride a bike there or the little buggies. The pictures do no justice. For the price you pay to stay here, it's a STEAL!!!! I will be rebooking again and again :)

Port A-OK!

My girlfriend and I went went down to port a for our anniversary and were extremely pleased with our room. Our room was ready a head of time and we were able to check in a few hours early which was fantastic. The room was great and fit what we were looking for. We stayed three nights in our room. Flatware, silverware, cups, glasses and bowls were all provided I thought this was a very nice touch. The area is very nice, quiet and friendly. The location is great too just a few mins walk to the beach or a quick drive. This is a great room for a couple looking to getaway for a few days and very reasonably priced. Everything was perfect!

Sweet little getaway in a convenient location

This little condo was a perfect size for our family of 2 grandparents and 2 children. Spotless upon arrival, well stocked kitchen and laundry supplies. Very friendly owners of other condos in the complex. Family atmosphere at a very affordable price. Location is 5 minutes from the beach, numerous eateries, and a wonderful grocery store. Parking was conveniently within a few steps of the condo. Quiet area, even on Memorial Day Weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great Place To Stay

This little condo was perfect for me, my husband, and son. We arrived and you could smell the cleanliness of the apartment from outside the door. Everything was in good working condition. Everyone at the neighboring apartments were very friendly. The location was good just a few blocks from the beach. We had an enjoyable stay and were very impressed with the apartment for the price. Will definitely stay here again!!!

Great stay!

Our stay was close to perfect, the only thing I would recommend is new beds. The master rooms bed was very hard and I could feel the springs. The futon was ok but still not very comfortable. Everything else was perfect and exactly what I expected. Very clean, cosy, and the caretaker of the facility was friendly and helpful with helping us find our way around. I would recommend this space to any small family who just wants to get away for a while. Thanks Port A Escapes!
