Sandy Hayseed SC10 - Pet Friendly

The rental was nice and clean. Could use more towels but we managed. We were a bit concerned with location. Normally we stay on the beach, but this house is not in a dad location at all. It’s a quick drive to beach and to everything the town has to offer. We enjoyed our time. The pool is shared, but it’s right out the back door. Sharing was fine, no one was loud and out late.

Sandy Hayseed is convenient to the beach, stores, and restaurants. It is a great size for a large family. Being pet friendly is a nice feature. Having a pool right outside the back door is wonderful!

We had a great stay this past weekend. We were disappointed when we were awoken at 1 am to the alarm clock going off downstairs the first night. Cleaning company should always check to make sure alarms are off. Other than that, it was great.

We loved staying here and will do again. Very clean, comfortable home in Old Town area of Port Aransas, TX. Walking distance to stores, grocery stores, restaurants and bars. Very quiet, safe area. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and linens. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need. BBQ grill outside. It has a fenced in yard for your pet. Plenty of hot water, great shower pressure. The rental company, portaescapes, was very prompt to answer any questions or concerns. Highly recommend this property!

It was a great experience, the home was ready for us to come and enjoy our vacation with everything we would need. They made it very easy for us to check into the home and our golf cart was delivered to the home before we even got there, so it was very convenient. We were originally at a different airbnb rental but it was not the experience we wanted. Luckily we found this was available and got it same day! Excellent location and the kids loved that a pool was just steps out the backyard. Easy to rent a golf cart to get the the beach. The house is currently for sale, so I think that might be why some maintenance needs to be done. The shower heads for sure need updated and the fenced in yard needs some landscaping help. Loved that we could bring our dogs for a very reasonable fee. Yes the fenced in yard is all rock, but there is some grass right outside that made potty time easy. The kitchen is very well stocked. We did find a few bugs down stairs each morning (no we didn't leave food out). There were some traps under the sink, so this must be a known issue. Super cute house that we would stay at again

The house was okay, could use some updates though. I have to say, this house was advertised as a 4 bedroom and when we got there we realized the fourth bedroom was the laundry room that they had added bunk beds to. I wasn't horrible just not a real bedroom, more like a closet with beds and a washer and dryer. Other than that the house was clean and provided a good amount of liens and towels. Overall a good rental just was smaller than I expected.

We had a wonderful time at the Sandy Hayseed. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. The pool was great and it was a great location from the beach. The only drawback was we brought our dog with us and there was no grass in the fenced backyard and she was not allowed in the pool area.

Very nice accommodations and great location.
Port A Escapes could improve their service greatly if they would ask seasonal renters if they would like to book for the following year before opening to other renters. Wanted to return in 2021 but was booked when we checked n the middle of January. Booked next year with another agency.

Cute house, great amenity's , pool is right out the back door and beach is 3 blocks away. You are right in town and able to get to everywhere on your golf cart from this location. House was kept nice and had plenty of room.

Sandy Hayseed is one of my favorite places in the world; I hope one day to meet the owners and swap stories. We enjoyed our stay on Ave C for the third consecutive year. Port A Escapes are easy to work with.

Property is always clean with everything we need from the kitchen to the bedrooms.

My family found this rental to be a great location in the town, able to walk just about anywhere. The unit was clean upon arrival and any issues we had during the stay were taken care of easily by management. We liked it so much we are staying for 2 months in 2019!

We had a nice time, even though the AC was out for the first 2 days. The owner called to let us know he was giving us one free night. The house was nice, clean, and up to date. I will point out though, if you have adult guest that need the twin beds, the "4th" bedroom is in the laundry room and not truly a bedroom. Great for families with children.

The house it still really nice, but I see that slowly it is not being kept up,The Up stairs smoke alarms were sitting on the ledge of the stairs, the upper restroom toilet paper handle was broke off, there is a walkway from the entrance to the back, there are hedges that are over grown to each other so when I walked towards the back I got soak and wet from brushing against both sides of the hedges, they could of trimmed them, its little things but I hope they dont start letting it get run down.

The overall vacation experience was wonderful. The rental property was clean, fresh and aesthetically pleasing. We really liked the set-up and the relaxed atmosphere. The only issue we had was at check-in. We went to the office to see if we could pick up the keys early and were told the unit wasn't ready and would be receiving a call when it was. We went to wait around town then called about 1pm to check the status. We were told the room still wasn't ready and wasn't guaranteed until 4pm, which we understood. At 3:30, we had still not received a phone call so we decided to head to the office on our own. When we got there, staff were closing up, which struck us as strange considering we hadn't gotten a call. If we had not head over to the office, would we have been considered late and stuck without a key?

Again, other that that, the actual stay was great. I liked the app. Very helpful and convenient.

The house was very clean, well furnished and had plenty of utensils. The location is also in a very good area. If any cons, its the lock box, makes it hard to access you key, but luckily management still answered the phone even at around 9pm and was able to get me the key..Would definitely use Port A Escapes again.

Our condo rental for our family reunion was perfect. We had several condos rented. We loved being located around the pool and the covered cabana area at the pool. We could gather there or "condo hop" to visit other reunion family members. The entire experience was very family oriented and we felt at home and relaxed.

The house is great for the price and the pool is literally right outside your door. We mostly hung out at the pool since the beach was not very nice during the weekend we stayed.

We had a few issues with towel racks and toilet paper dispensers falling off the walls. One of the outside gate locks was about to fall off as well. We were informed it was $50 fine if we left trash in the house, but the landscapers filled up the trash can outside. We had to get creative in stuffing trash generated by 9 people into that. I let the property management office know all of the issues when we turned in our key. They were apologetic and made notes to have everything addressed.

The place is great for a family, but we had all adults. There is a bunk bed in the laundry room that is a little awkward for that arrangement, but we made due. It was all fine and the rest of the house was perfect for a bunch of friends hanging out for the weekend.

Like many beach houses these 10? Cottages are located close together. The night before we left there was a group of friends occupying three of the cottages, probably 25-30 people. They started their live music concert at 6 and went non stop till 10 when they did cooperate when requested to shut down. If you had small children , as we did, they could hear/avoid sleep with the music. The rental agents were excellent and corrected any function problem promptly. Only suggestion is you might want to bring your own frying pan and mop. The frying pans are awful and shedding their Teflon. The floor is unsealed cement and tends to be dirty in the kitchen area. The " fourth bedroom" is a stretch, more a tiny laundry room with two bunks not suitable for an adult couple.

I would recommend this property to anyone. the overall stay was wonderful. every thing was in good condition and there was plenty of room for 10.

Only issues that I saw and from what my wife told me was there was not enough toilet tissue or paper towels and the walls in the house are thin and you can hear everything, so if privacy is what your looking for you will not find in this house. Location to town and the pool area are great.

Great place, kitchen was roomy, fully stocked and good for cooking for large groups. The pool was small but unoccupied most of the time so we were able to put it to good use. Will definitely be back, location to the beach wasn't an issue and loved the concrete floors so splashes of water weren't a big deal. Decor was modern and place was super clean!

Nice to have a washer and dryer and access to the pool was great when we got tired of the sand! Wish was closer so we could of walked to the beach but since ya can drive on the beach that wasnt too bad a deal.

We had a great vacation in Port A staying at the Sandy Hayseed. We had never rented a house before, but we will definitely do it again. We really enjoyed the space. The house is so clean, bright and cheery! We loved all the wood and the stained concrete floors. I LOVED having a washer and dryer in the house. We also loved the garage to store our beach stuff and fishing stuff. The one call I made to the office about outside trash was answered and taken care of quickly...suggestion-maybe have a locked box outside for all the pool chemicals instead of having them right there by the pool. Great vacation!

Absolutely wonderful. This house has tons of space and storage and plenty of room for our group of 9. It was spotlessly clean, and our only request of management (replacing a light bulb) was handled quickly. The only things we would add are a safety rail to the top bunk bed and a couple of reading lamps downstairs.

The only problem was not enough towels and sheets and blankets. The home was wonderful and the staff was great. The one thing that I would correct is that pool chemicals were left by the table in the pool area and small children could open them...they need to be stored in a locked area or cabinet instead of being in the open. One other problem was the top bunk did not have a guardrail and with the cement floor that is very dangerous so we could not let any of the children sleep up there because they were afraid and so were we.

We loved the house, it was very clean, comfortable,convenient, everything you needed in the kitchen and for the barbeque. There were lots of towels, nice linens, comfy beds. Pool was convenient and fun for the kids in the evening. The top bunk needs a rail for kids. It is high and a long drop to the concrete floor if a child falls off at night. We just put 2 little kids together in the bottom bunk. Check in was fairly quick but we were not happy to only receive ONE key to the house. We were told by a young man in the office that he would "look for it and bring it by the house when I get off work". This never happened and when we called the next morning we were told there was no second key. No offer to get a key made. It was inconvenient to have several families/10 people with only one key. When we checked in this same young man was on the phone and was not sounding very professional or helpful to another tenant. Not a flattering image for the property management company - they need to work on this. Otherwise, it was a great rental and we would stay there again.

My family and I stayed here for Christmas and absolutely loved it. The spacious living area gave us lots of room to visit and hang out. The place is beautiful, fresh, and quite clean. I loved the variety of kitchen essentials as we had enough to cook our Christmas dinner! The management was friendly, quick, and very helpful. I will definitely be back.

We had a group of 8 plus a 3 year old and 6 month and this place was just right. TV's in every room, fully furnished kitchen, super clean! The top bunk bed didn't have a rail so a little sketchy and the bbq (charcoal) was a little small for that many people. The pool was great for kids and had a shallow side for them to wade. we'll def be back!~

We go to Port A every year, twicw a year. As our family has ben out growing our usual spot, we found this Gem this time around and loved it! I think it will turn into our new "usual" spotmoving forward. Very clean, convenient to the beach and town. Well worth it!
