This one bedroom, one bath home is located in the heart of Port Aransas. Just a three minute drive to the beach or walk to the shops, restaurants, marina and bars. The breeze on the front porch is wonderfully refreshing. When you walk into the home you enter the freshly remodeled living room, with a sleeper sofa. The full kitchen is to the back of the room and the bedroom and bath are off to the right. The living room has a flat screen TV and a DVD player. There is also a TV in the bedroom. Smoking is permitted outside only. There is plenty room to park a boat if needed. The fenced back yard features a fire pit and barbecue pit. This is a pet friendly rental. Pet fees are an additional $20.00+tax, per pet, per night. A maximum of 2 pets are allowed, 30lbs maximum. Come enjoy this tranquil cottage right in the heart of Port Aransas!

The BESTEST Vacation Stay I've Ever Had

The Beautiful House in the Picture was BOTH Beautiful inside and out! When I got to Port A I forgot about the Check In Time was 4pm and I arrived at 10:30am so I had some time to kill, no worries I had a planned fishing Trip at Fisherman's Warf the next day so I spent some time familiarizing myself with my area. I even drove by my Bungalow to make sure I knew how to get there. (by the way Rent a Golf Cart to putter around Port A it's cheaper) When I checked in at the Bungalow I rented (not the one I finally stayed at) The Airconditionar was NOT WORKING, so I called management and They said they would get someone over to fix it, shortly thereafter I got a back from them and they said Sir we are so sorry for this and we will make it up to you, they said they have a property right behind where I was staying which turned out to be this BEAUTIFUL house that I finally got to stay at. All I can say is the Property Management did not fail me and I had the BESTEST VACATION I've ever had.

Beautiful and Convenient Property

High end finishes; lots of room for a cozy cottage; great outdoor space for dogs and to lounge by the fire pit; 2 minute car ride to the beach; walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping; very clean; A/C was really cool even at 72 degrees. Would recommend and revisit!!!

A Cottage Delight
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cozy cottage was just right for me and my husband. It actually exceeded our expectations; the cleanliness, just the right decor, the location of the house was perfect distance to the beach, restaurants, and shops. We enjoyed staying in to BBQ. We really wished we could have stayed longer. As soon as we can, we look forward to renting the Alister House again.

Outstanding Property and Management Services

This is a delightful and comfortable cottage, beautifully decorated and maintained. I think it is in one of the best locations on the island. The kitchen has everything you need of you want to cook a few meals while you are there. Very close to the beach, great restaurants, the grocery store and many other attractions. Although the weather was not that good this past February, we still were able to spend a few evenings on the back deck and enjoy the firepit. The management and customer service was exceptional and very responsive to our questions and needs. Hats off to Harry, the manager, and the Port A Escapes staff. I would highly recommend Alister House and Port A Escapes!

Absolutely precious little cottage! We loved that the little house had a history. The finishes were very nice and the cottage was in a great location. You could walk to several restaurants and it had a family ice cream store across the street. The bed was very comfortable and the home was super clean. The only negative that we have is about the landscaping. The lawn was full of stickers and mosquitoes and grown to knee high in some places. I know that the home was in an owner transition so I hope that that situation is temporary. We would definitely stay there again.

Loved everything about this place. Looks even better in person. They did a great job on the remodeling. Perfect house for a couple needing some time away from the grind. One of the best vacations I’ve had in Port Aransas, and I’ve been going there since the 1980’s, having stayed in some of the best hotels. The week flew by, and we didn’t want to leave. Coming back for sure. More than satisfied.

Beach Paradise

Overall, this beach house is perfect for two people with an incredible and comfortable King size bed. The furnishings are first class with beautiful contrasts of beach colors on the walls. The back widows in the kitchen need drapes to protect the home from intense heat and needed privacy. We hung up a light blanket that I had in the car. The TV never worked - although they come over twice to ‘fix’ it - we asked again on our last day there but no one came. This is our only complaint- with paying over 300 dollars a night - the TV should work. The home itself is in the heart of Port A and a short drive to the beach.

My wife and I have rented this house 3 times now. It is a very roomy 1 bedroom home with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and overall nicely appointed. It's location is an easy walk to a number of restaurants and the warf.

Labor Day at Alister house

It’s a very cozy house for 2-4 people. It was close to many of the resteraunt and to the marina. We loved being able to walk to the Crazy Cajun and t the ice cream resteraunt next door. Also the donut shop was only a block away. The grocery store was only about 10 blocks away. It had a small bbq pit but that’s all we needed. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided, the only utensil we were lacking was a bbq tool to turn the steaks. We used a fork. It was a great weekend for us. Can’t wait to be back!

This house is absolutely beautiful inside. The outside is fine, but once you see the inside with it’s modern updates, you’re going to fall in love with it! The location is also ideal for walking to restaurants and golf cart rentals. The house has a washer and dryer and the bed is super comfortable!

This house is impecable. The furniture, flooring, paint, kitchen and bathroom have all been very tastefully updated and our stay was Wonderfull. I recommend this house 100%.
A recommandation to the owners is to have some patio furniture for both the front and back porches.... the existing patio chairs were in the lawn and chained to the shack in the back. We called the management company to request they unlock it and we never got a call back. Besides that, we loved the place.

Great little get away for 2, I think it sleeps more but I booked it for me and my wife. We had a great time although we had rain, enough for flood warnings in Port A. Nothing wrong with a little indoor time. We enjoyed beach time and local eateries. We live north of San Antonio and come to the coast often. We always stay at a property managed Port A Escapes. All of our stays are great.

It was a lovely cottage! Reported problem with overgrown yard and stickers - yard mowed next day. Unable to access internet- had service call to reset, but no internet during our 4 day visit. Hot water would not not get hot in shower so lukewarm to cool showers. Disappointing that back deck and door could not be used and plants were dried out and stickers everywhere from major sticker problem that stuck to our shoes. We loved the comfortable bed and furnishings - it could have been perfect!! We loved it in spite of little issues and imagined ourselves coming back or buying such a place. I see the property is for sale and am very interested in knowing how often this property has rented this summer. Thanks for asking for feedback!

We were very happy with the property. The tv was a bit small, and it would have been great to have one in the bedroom, but that was not a big deal. Only complaint would be that the refrigerator did not keep our drinks cold and, when we were loading our ice chests to go home, some of our food had mold on it, so we had to throw it out. Fridge needs to be either serviced or replaced.

Tranqil Tide 201A and it was a nearly perfect respite from the Christmas hustle and bustle. The rennovations that have been made to this intiimate home away from home motivated us to make our next reservations before we had been there an hour.
There are no perfect views from our windows, but we never lose the feeling that we are at the coast. The beach is a short walk and an even shorter drive. OUr favorite restaraunts are nearbye and if I get the undeniable urge to buy a new Port A T-shirt, shopping is not far away.
According to a note left behind by the owners, this is a work in progress. I look forward to our next visit to see that you can imporove on perfection. I hesitate to write this review for fear the price will rise and there will be no days available when we want to come again.

This home is very spacious for 2. Comfortable bed. Privacy even though there are rentals behind the house. Prefect location to every thing. Walking distance to to eateries & beach, for those who are able. Rental co provided golfcart rental waiting for us at check in. Loved the nice size kitchen & fridge. We will definitely return.

This little cottage is perfectly sized and located. We walked just about everywhere and you have all food choices available as well as an IGA grocery store near by. Only complaint is the pull out couch bed. It should be burned as it was so uncomfortable we slept on the floor our 2nd and 3rd nights.

Very Cozy Escape

This rental property is definitely a home away from home. The front porch is situated just right so you get the sea breeze, but you are always just out of reach of the sun. Great place to sit and have a few cold brews after a sunny day at the beach.
The house was cool and ready to receive us when we got there due to someone's thoughtfulness to turn down the AC in advance. The cottage was perfect for my wife and myself and very clean. The bed was comfortable and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped even though we did not use it that much. We will be returning to this cabin again. Everything inside was clean and fresh with no strange odors, which means a lot to a property, especially on the coast. All in all we had a fantastic stay.

Nice cottage in the middle of town!

They stay was great! cottage is older and has window AC units that are more than powerful in 85 degree weather. Kitchen was suitable and stocked enough to cook dinner. Settled in the middle of town so you can walk easily to any of the restaurants.
If you go, I would highly recommend Beach & Station St Grill! The place is fantastic!

Perfect Getaway for Two!
We enjoyed ringing in the New Year at the beach! This place was clean, nice and comfortable for two people. With highs in the low 30's while we were there, the heater ran the entire time and we still bundled up, but that is to be expected from such an old house. Truly a wonderful, relaxing trip and can't wait to stay here again.

We stayed at Tranquil Tide for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and it was the perfect getaway location to send the holiday. We live 20 minutes away in Corus Christi but with our grown children scattered we try to find neat places to spend our holidays. This was just perfect! We cooked in both days because all the restaurants were closed so the BBQ came in handy. We wee just a short drive to the beach and enjoyed it not being crowded this time of year. We also enjoyed walking the neighborhood and visiting with the neighborhood winter Texans. This is a great place to stay in Port A and you can guarantee, we shall return!

Good overall, there were a few minor negatives. The propped open bathroom door starts be a pain after a while, but i know, its an old house. There were a few dead roaches under the bed and under the living room end table. The bedroom just doesn't seem to get cool enough and an iPod player or something for music would be a good addition. Perfect Vacation Location

We were very happy with our little vacation "home". From the outside, it looks very small, but inside is very roomy and open. It was furnished with everything we needed, and more. Our only disappointment was the couch and internet. It is very uncomfortable to sit on and we were fortunate to have brought along an air mattres, as the couch mattress was not fit for anyone to sleep on. We were not able to connect with wifi the whole time we were there. It requires a password, which is not available to guests, yet we were told that it was not required. Otherwise, this is a wonderful place to stay and the management company was very helpful throughout our experience.

Yellow Cottage

I recently stayed two nights at the yellow cottage in Port Aransas. I thought the cottage was in a great location, close to everything. Very charming and clean. It had tons of kitchen utensils if needed which was nice and a comfy bed.
My main complaint was that I felt the fees are too high and it felt like the management would fine us for anything. I mean "$50 if we don't take out the trash when we leave and roll it to the curb" yet we are charged a $45 clean up fee as well. Use the blue towel to wipe makeup or you'll be charged for stained towels. The long check out list that we had to follow. I get that we are expected to keep the place clean which isn't a problem but I felt it was a tad excessive. I just don't like worrying that I'm going to get a fee for any little thing or like I'm leaving my parents house with a long list of rules. I've rented many rental houses and that was the most excessive of the lists.
But overall, I think the cottage is great and in a great location.

Place was very clean with plenty of light. Advertised 4 could sleep here, but it's more like 3 adults, which is luckily what we had. Bed is a king and then there is a pull out sofa bed in the living room. One bathroom, but it's large. Very convenient walking
to bars & restaurants in the evenings although you have to drive to the beach. Overall, quite happy and would stay there again under similar circumstances.

Perfect cottage getaway

We went down for the Sandcastle fest. The cottage was perfect! Completely remodeled and fully loaded! It has a dishwasher and a full size washer and drier, which was perfect for getting all of the sand out of the clothes before we brought them home. There are plenty of great restaurants and a nice cafe and bakery right across the street. Quiet location, just wish is was a little closer to the fest but we would definitely stay there again!

Very Clean!
The cottage was spotless! The washer & dryer were a definite plus. The location was great-we could walk to the beach, shops & restaurants. The only downside is that there were no closets.

This was a great spot - walking distance to the ferry landing and several restaurants. We were really impressed with how clean the place was. Large bedroom & bath. But don't believe the bath faucet - we thought we didn't have hot water, only to discover the hot and cold were reversed!! Everything else was perfect.

The cottage was very comfortable, clean, and close to everything. We enjoyed our stay in spite of the extra cold weather we had for a short period of time. The house was not set up for the extreme cold weather. The staff at the rental management company were super nice and helpful.

Port A is truly the Texas Riviera!

My partner,her sis and I had the good fortune to stay here for a much needed and well deserved four day vacation. We have always gone to Bolivar, Galveston or Surfside to enjoy the beach in the past, but have decided that Port A is our new get-a-way destination. The town is small and friendly and we had everything we could possibly need there. Tranquil Tide is the sweetest little place with a really comfy bed, great natural light,convenient to the beach, shops and restaurants and very nicely decorated. It was so nice to come back to a cozy house instead of a hotel or condo!

At Home on Holiday

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tranquil Tide. My mom and dad even stayed in one of the efficiency cottages right behind us. It was perfect. I have very high standards when it comes to accomodations and this cottage was clean, well stocked and very comfortable for my husband, our two teenagers and me. We usually stay on the beach, but enjoyed staying in town, enjoying all that it has to offer and making daily trips to the beach. It worked well for us. We will be back!!!

The house was in a perfect location, within walking distance from restaurants, shops, and bars. The beach was a quick 5 minute drive. The place was clean, very charming, the perfect size for four ladies on vacation. We all loved it!

This was great! The condo was beautiful, decorated with very good taste, and priced very good. The location is in the heart of all the good restaurants, and about 2 minutes to the beach. My wife and I just really enjoyed our vacation, and we were so impressed with the condo, that it just really topped it off.

The cottage has been renovated.. and is it cute!!! Oh my!! It was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and sleeping. Everything was VERY clean,neat and very spacious. We took our boat and were able to keep it hooked up to the truck and park next to the house without worring about damage/theft. The staff at Port A Escapes was very nice, helpful and flexible.
Only thing negative was that there was no garden, only a wide open yard next to a parking lot. It would have been nice to sit outside in some chairs with at least some privacy. Overall, all four of us(2 adults 2 kids both under 3 years old) had a great time and will rent it again!!
