We really enjoyed our stay at Jans Oasis. The unit was clean and had nice furnishings, a well equipped kitchen and a great view of the ocean from the balcony. The beach is an easy stroll down the boardwalk and the pool community game room are situated at the high point of the property offering ocean views and breezes. The Beachhead is an all time favorite of my family. We will be back!

It was a quaint condo located just a short walk from the beach. Upon inspection we found several discrepancies, the light fixture was hanging from the wires on the balcony overlooking the beach, the ceiling fan in the master bedroom had no globe on it, , found a drinking glass in the master bathroom tub diverter needed replaced it was extremely corroded and gross looking when we first ran water out of it got large amounts of corrosion and metal deposits in the tub,the large blinds in the second bedroom were not functional at all overlooking the ocean, robbing us of the view of the ocean, there was no coffee pot as advertised however there was a Keurig machine that we weren't prepared for. Kitchen faucet was nearly unusable it needed a new cartridge obviously every time you would shut it off it would try to turn back on which made it irritating to run the faucet knowing you are going to have trouble getting it shut off. I feel like these were just small things that should have been caught before guests arrive the whole idea is to fix these things while the room is empty, also there was no live television it was all streaming streaming. Now I want to positive note the kitchen had everything you could possibly need for preparing meals and the beds were simply amazing and comfortable in the two bedrooms the view of the ocean was wonderful as advertised the furniture was adequate. The swimming pool was fantastic water was actually warm enough to enjoy in the middle of winter. The game room was fun however air hockey table was inoperable and the television and the game room did not work. The laundry room had no coin changer and many places did not want to give you coins to use for the laundry. The staff did not clarify the entrance to the pool. Staff I spoke to on the phone we're not friendly. The maintenance guy was over the top friendly and helpful and glad I was able to give him suggestions on maintenance to the room. Would rate my stay three out of five stars overall.

Nice place for the price. Cozy rental perfect for our girls trip. Clean, but things needed replacement such as blinds that wouldn't close. Nice view of the water.

My family had a fantastic stay at Jan's Oasis in Beachhead Condos. It was our second summer to stay there and the condo was clean and so close to the beach. A short stroll on the boardwalk and your there. Watching the sunset on the patio is a plus! The pool and gameroom was nice and we grilled out up by the clubhouse. We will stay here again. The only complaint I might have was the BBQ grills were not cleaned out.....I had to do that myself each day at the clubhouse.

Jan's Oasis is decorated really cute and feels very homey and clean. The view is super and the walk to the beach is very nice. Just get on the board walk and in a few minutes you are there. All the restaurants are so close and so is shopping. We would stay in the condo again!!

After being cooped up on the house during Covid19 pandemic 2020, on the last week of homeschooling i decided to take the kids to the beach. This condo had a great view of the ocean from the balcony, Cold AC, Boardwalk access to the beach. Also on the property-A heated pool, clubhouse access with games(foosball, table hockey, ping pong), a kitchen, nice grills, tv with youtube. This portion of the beach was significantly less crowded. Walking distance to convenient stores and a few restaurants. Alot of people rent golf carts to drive around the island like we did, it was worth it.One thing i wished was that there was a washer/dryer on the property. This was my first time to Port A, it as great. We will be back!

We loved it! The view from our balcony was amazing. The room was clean, we loved the location so close to the beach we didnt have to drive, just walked on the boardwalk. We loved going to the pool and were able to relax and see the ocean view from the pool. We did get plenty of exercise going up and down the stairs and the walk going to the beach. We rate our stay 5stars��

Wife, Brother-in-Law and I stayed in Jan's Oasis April 12-15 to do some fishing and enjoy Port A. We've been coming to Beachhead for many years, and this is by far our favorite unit. Great decor with mounted sailfish, new beds and furniture, very clean, but same great view.

Loved this condo! It is very comfortable and has a great view of the water! The kitchen has been redone with all new appliances. The only drawback this time, because of recent rains, the boardwalk (which is usually a plus) was covered with standing water in three places that had to be waded through if you wanted to get to the beach. Because of several days of standing water, not only in our parking space but also on the surrounding grounds, mosquitoes were rampant! That being said, it is normally such a great place that we will be back.

this is the second time we have stayed at this location. Both units were very good, great location, enjoyed both the Gulf and big swimming pool.
I would recommend looking into these properties if you are going to visit Port Aransas .

The condo was decorated with classy beach décor. The views from the second bedroom, living area, and balcony were spectacular. The only issue we had was the neighboring unit. They had three vehicles and used our second spot. My daughter had to squeeze her car at an angle behind our truck the first night. The second night she had to park in visitor parking all the way at the front of the complex. This was at midnight so not ideal in the safety department; a teenager having to walk so far so late at night. We thought if we parked our truck in our secondary spot, our daughter would have our spot marked with OUR rental unit number since she was returning late after visiting with nearby friends. Nope, they parked there too. We lucked out Sunday morning the truck in our spot left briefly enough for us to pull in and utilize all four doors of our vehicle to load up for our departure. He came back as we were loading and looked at us like we were inconveniencing him. Frustrating that the rental agency nor the owner could effectively deal with this the entire weekend.

Good.However, found trash underneath the bedroom nearest the kitchen, and the bed creaks each time one moves...not good for a good night's rest.Shower in bathroom with twin beds is broken and will eventually create damage to the wall. 1 chair at table is very stained. Otherwise, we were pleased.

Had a good time going to the beach but the room was very outdated. The batteries for the TV were gone. The stand the TV was on rocked back and forth. There was not a broom or mop to clean up so the sand began to accumulate on floor. Adirondike chairs on balcony were short. Could not see over rail.

Our vacation stay was totally awesome, we have stayed in Port A once before last year but we were 7 miles further from town. This place has an excellent location and we are really close to the water. The property is clean and the leasing agency folks are really nice and helpful. We would recommend this place to everyone.

Loved staying here. Great for kids and close walk to the beach. Very clean and nice view of the ocean. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, coffee pot, cutting board and wine glasses ;-). Bedrooms are a nice size and living dining area is too. We will be coming back in a couple of weeks and can't wait.

The condo was in a great location. However, it needed updating. Even some of the newer appliances appeared to need maintenance (light shade loose in bathroom, vent over range filter broken) We did enjoy our trip, though and will return.

We have stayed at Beachhead several years now and still think it is a great place to stay. Great access to beach and Port A shopping and eating. It also allows 2-night stays and not the 3-night mandatory stay that most other condos require.

This unit is so comfortable & welcoming. It is well located (one of the closest to the fabulous beach), with wonderful Gulf views from the living room, second bedroom, & the balcony(shaded in the afternoon),and has covered parking. The management was pleasant,however when the city was doing road work which blocked the ONLY designated entrance/exit to the property for three days, it would have been helpful to guests for Management to post an acceptable way in & out of the property. Otherwise our stay was great!

This is the first time we've rented a condo and not a hotel room so I was a bit nervous. The location of this condo was right off the beach and the view was the best. We could see the beach from the balcony and bedroom and living room window, great views. We were only steps away from the boardwalk that takes you right out onto to the beach. Checking in and out was seemless. The unit was very clean and beautifully decorated, definitely a great place to relax and kids to enjoy. We would love to come back and stay here again.

Stayed at Jan's Oasis for a weekend early August. I had read some bad reviews regarding roaches/other bugs in the unit, so the first thing I did when I arrived was to open every cupboard and peek into every dark corner. No sign of bugs alive or dead, so it looks like they took care of that problem. Unit needs a new couch (old and a little dirty), and blinds weren't installed right so they came crashing down when we tried to open them. So a couple negatives, but everything else was good. Well stocked in the kitchen, all appliances worked, beds were comfortable. Only other thing I didn't like is it is far enough back from the ocean that you can see the ocean but can't feel any breeze. So it made sitting on the balcony pretty warm. Easy walk to the beach across the boardwalk. I did notice that Beachhead was the most quiet place I have ever stayed at Port A, so if you are looking for quiet you will appreciate that. Be aware it is a 3rd floor unit, so two fairly large flights of stairs. The assigned parking right under the unit was very convenient though. The pool looked ok, but we didn't use it. All in all, similar to most Port A condos - could be nicer and maintained a little better - but that is very much typical of Port A - not much incentive to keep the condos in great shape when they know they will be able to rent them out regardless...

We stayed in the same room we've stayed during other visits. It is obvious this condo is in desperate need of some upgrades. Molding and baseboards were coming off the wall, towel holders were broken, refrigerator in need of painting as it was covered in rust. While our overall experience was good, I think on our next visit, we will be staying in a different condo.

The vacation rental was very nice. My only issue was that we found a dead roach inside the coach when we pulled out the bed. When we got to the rental the key was under the mat i was told it would be in a lock box so we were trying to get into a different condo that was not our and i had to call the front office to find out where the key was. When we were leaving the rental the front office was not opened and we had to search for the building to drop the key off by 11 or we would have had to pay for another day, and when i typed the address into my GPS it said it was 36 minutes away, thankfully i called and it was just down the street.

Overall our experience was great but there is room for improvement. There were very few utensils in the kitchen - only one teaspoon! All of the dishware could use an upgrade. The remote for the tv did not work well and there was no remote for the DVD player. Condo was nice for a short stay but is a little worn around the edges. Could use some TLC but great location and great time overall.

I bought a Groupon site unseen for Beachhead Condos in Port Aransas. The condo was conveniently located to the beach. Although an older property, it was well maintained. Our condo was comfortable with nice furniture and amenities. I noticed roaches in the kitchen but this is the Texas coast. I'd stay there again. We had a really good time.

Having stayed at Beachhead on four different occasions, I can say the location,boardwalk to the beach, covered parking are all great! Our second time in Jan's Oasis & of the three units we've stayed in, this one has a well loved feel, with family fishing pictures mixed in with beach decor. New living room furniture this time,beds are comfortable & towels are great! Ocean views good from living room & second bedroom as well as balcony. We loved watching ships come in & out of port! The beach is outstanding! Pelicans were fishing! Water was fun! What a relaxing four days!

My family and I (two adults - 2 children) recently stayed at this Condo and we were very satisfied. The location was great, kid friendly & most importantly view was amazing. We vacation to Port A at least once a year and this was by far the best trip due to convenience of location. For me, the highlight of the trip was coming in every night after a long day at the beach and relaxing on the private balcony over looking the ocean while the kids made themselves comfortable indoors. It is a quiet & peaceful community so if that's what you're looking for this is definitely the place to stay. Highly recommend.

This condo was very nice and homey. Counters, bathrooms, linens, etc were all much cleaner than any hotel we've been to, Except by the second day there were small roaches in the kitchen. The only other complaint is that the Internet never worked. Management explained that it was an issue with TimeWarner. Again, we were very happy with the grounds and location. We would go back in the future.

My husband and I have been going to BeachHead for over 12 years. We have a lot of wonderful memories there and have always loved that it's very family friendly and not overcrowded with wonderful access to the beach. This time was rather disappointing. We noticed the outside of the property had a lot of repairs done and looked nice, but the inside of the unit (306 BH) was lacking in several ways. There were a ton of bugs in the kitchen that we had to kill nightly. Also, the kitchen spoons were short (only 2 regular spoons). There was no back up TP in one bathroom. The internet connection was terrible even after calling Port A office, they were unable to resolve it for us. The DVD only showed black and white. The sofa was soiled and the master bed spread had many brown stains. On the back patio, there were only 2 chairs for a room that sleeps 4. We also felt the cost per night was too high, considering the condition. We also felt that there should not be an additional cleaning fee attached to the bill. That should be taken care of in the $240 a night. When I went home and called Port A about my experience, I spoke with Donna Lou who I felt to be rather unsympathetic. While not outright rude, I felt she was lacking in concern. She was quick to place blame on BeachHead property instead of taking responsibility. She also placed the blame on ME for not letting them know sooner. THEY are the ones that should check out each unit for shortcomings so customers don't have to complain! She even had the audacity to tell me at the end of our conversation that maybe I would be better off trying another property next time. She clearly has no real investment in this property. I finally spoke to Cynthia at Beachhead directly. She was very sweet and symapthetic and assured me she was working on the issues. I greatly appreciated her attitude and will give them another try.

We have stayed at the Beachhead Condos in the past and have had a very nice experience every time. The location to the beach can't be beat. The pool is always clean and well maintained and offers a nice alternative to the sand and ocean.

We were disappointment with the internet access; we were never able to connect, despite multiple attempts. Others in our group had problems, as well.

We stayed for Memorial Day weekend Thursday-Monday. We picked this location because it was literally in the middle of town. Last year we stayed in a condo 15 minutes away and it felt too isolated. Check-in was a breeze as always. Once we got to the condo I was surprised because the place felt bigger then the pictures made me think it would be. We had six adults and we had plenty of room. The view was awesome. This third floor location allows you to see over the dunes into the water. However, you don't see the beach itself so even on this busy weekend it was quiet and you didn't feel the crowds. All the appliances worked perfectly. The A/C was on a comfortable 76 when we got there and the fridge was cold and ready for our food. The deck could use a few more chairs but we had beach chairs so it was not a problem. The pool was very nice for the first couple days but by Sunday it was looking fairly yellow and dirty. I was told it was from mismanagement of chemicals by others who have had pools. The playground was fun for the little one. It was in good shape with plenty of things to climb and swing on. All in all this was a great place in a great location. I would stay again for sure!!

We have stayed at this property the past 3 years. The only complaint that we have about this stay, was that a very rude lady approached us outside our property about our golf carts. The way she approached us and with the tone she took was very unprofessional and did not set well with us at all. She said she had complaints about "girls" driving too fast on the property and going over speed bumps way too fast. When we were approached by her, she totally caught us off guard. We were like it can not be us, because for one, us "ladies" (2 of us being 40, one of us being 49 and the other 60) were by no means speeding on the golf carts, plus 2 of us ladies have extremely large breasts, which would make speeding over the speed bumps a huge discomfort and we also had a handicap child we were transporting, therefore I don't see how any of us could be speeding over the speed bumps with him either. The more we thought about it, it made us very upset. For one there are no speed limits on that property and 2 of us had brand new golf carts from cars and carts and the govenors were set to not go over 10mph and we knew that because we complained that they were too slow and we felt like we were holding up traffic at times because they were so slow. So with that being said, not happy at all about the approach from whomever this lady was. She should have asked questions and been more pleasant with her approach and maybe did some investigating before her attack. Regarding the property manager question above...we rated the check in and check out process, along with the reservation process a 5, if this lady was the property manager, we would rate her a 1.
