With a mixture of antique and eclectic décor, this home is unlike any other on the street. Vintage beds, comfy mattresses, top of the line linens, and every kitchen convenience one can imagine such as a Cuisinart Illy coffee maker. Stokke High Chair. Smart TV's, Wifi, Nest Google Home Hub, Sound Machine. Relax with a book and a cold drink on the back porch or cook a meal in the outdoor covered picnic area. Large Weber grill provided. Large yard to enjoy provided horse shoes, giant jenga, and large wood dice, as well as yoga mats, puzzles, & cards. Cleaned after every stay with organic cleaning supplies and no toxic ingredients.
This is a pet friendly rental. Pet fees are an additional $20.00+tax, per pet, per night. A maximum of 3 pets are allowed. STR#183962

Fall Family Port A Stay

This sweet little cottage had tons of charm! The decorating style was so cute that I was googling sources for many items in the home & hurried home to make my own version of their drop cloth curtains. It was spacious enough for our family on 4 adults, 1 child, & 3 dogs. The fenced in backyard was wonderful in giving us a safe place to let the dogs out to potty.
I was disappointed in the cleanliness here & there. I found an old vegetable on the floor under the kitchen butcher block, the plastic cups & mixing bowls needed a scrub before we could use them, & the kettle on the stove had old water with unusual floaters growing in it from a previous tennent. We also had to pick up several water bug carcasses but I think that comes with the season & territory. Be aware that the backyard does have stickers in the grass.
I'd rate the stay an 8/10 & would love to stay here again, however, I'd really ask the managing group to use a more thorough housekeeper.

The Gulf House was perfect for our month stay

My husband and I went to Port A for a month. Our friends told us about the rental agency and we found this jewel. We have 2 pets so it's hard to find accommodations with a fenced yard. This was perfect. It became our home away from home.
I love to cook and the kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed except a crockpot, which we brought from home.
The bed was so comfortable with top of the line sheets. It was cold while we were there so we put a soft blanket on the bed and it was perfect. The shower was hot and had nice water pressure. Towels were thick. The bed was a little high for me because I am less than 5 feet but we made it work. I'm glad they had a stool, I used it a lot!
The only thing that was a problem was the dining room table, which was a long old door. Even though it was cute it was not functional. A fix could be a piece of glass on top of it. Or another antique table.
The internet was fast and the heating is top of the line. You can tell they didn't skimp on the things that were important.
One of the best restaurants in Port A was a few houses away so we walked to it many times for smoothies. Yummy
The neighborhood was quiet and lovely to walk around. The beach is a short car ride or you can walk. Lots of things were within walking distance. There is a laundromat near so we took our clothes and paid to have them do them twice.
If we ever go to Port A again we would definitely stay here if it was available.

Some small issues, but would rent again
This is a really cute, recently renovated home with some quirks. The fenced yard is nice, although there are some burrs in the grass. The paperwork said there would be a fine if we didn't clean the hadn't been cleaned in months (we did because we used it often) and the electricity didn’t work in the grill area (if you wedged something against the box it would work). We found a few small dead roaches, but at least they were dead. I expect that type of thing in this area, it’s a tropical island. At least they try to get rid of them. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom & kitchen were beautiful. We very much appreciated the tall countertops in the kitchen & bathroom. The house is in a quiet location, but still close to everything. We enjoyed the back deck.
Some of the things were not practical, but "looked good" like the dining table, 15 plates, but no sheet pan for the oven. Nice knives, but only one mixing/serving bowl. It’s like they wanted everything to look perfect, but not usable for a rental. The TV was very weird. We asked for help getting something to watch. A guy came, but said he couldn’t figure it out and would have someone call us (they never did). Next time we would just bring our ROKU and we’d be fine. It needs a good deep cleaning, including inside the kitchen cupboards.
Overall though, we would rent this home again: it was cute, no stairs, quiet location, fenced yard and close to everything.

Home away from home!

We stayed 7 weeks during a house remodel and fell in love with the local lifestyle at the beautiful cottage. This home has such curated charm and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We loved the central location and could see ships passing in the channel from our kitchen window. Beautiful property and most accommodating owners! ❤

Better than the pictures!

The Gulf House is beyond adorable! Decorated beautifully, fully equipped kitchen with every utensil you could ever think of (minus a chopping knife). Super clean, comfortable beds/pillows, soft sheets, well lit (love all your fun light fixtures!). Eco friendly sample products, plenty of soft bath towels, powerful shower. We didn't have any issues with sticker burs, felt very safe and cannot wait to come back! We've already shared the link with friends/fam that are looking to take a trip this fall. Thanks for sharing your beach home with us!

512 Gulf Street what a cute cottage

We loved staying at the house. Decorated beautifully. Beds were very comfortable! It could use a bath mat for the shower as water sprays out under the shower curtain and gets the floor wet causing it to be very slippery. Would have liked hand towels for the bathroom instead of the paper napkins. Just in case you are not aware, the yard is full of sticker burrs. Had a dust pan, but no broom. A broom, would be good to have one in the house. Would love to go back and stay several weeks. Very comfortable first class home. Loved it!

Charming Cottage

Stayed in this cute cottage for our anniversary. Great stay but would be great when they add the washer/dryer and even a compact dishwasher would be a nice addition. Master bed is very comfortable, neighborhood quiet and nice having a vanity area in the Master. Shelf in kitchen would be nice if remounted b/c too tall right now to reach plates, etc.. Needs a cutting board but other than that, the kitchen is nicely stocked! Our coffee maker didn't work 1st morning, but maintenance came right over to bring us a new one. Also highly suggest for the owner to add window shades on the front door and the back door, not only for privacy but the glare sometimes on the tv. We know it's a new rental (and we own a VRBO also, so it's all helpful advice!) We would definitely recommend it for a couple or a small family but keep in mind it's 2 bedrooms right next to each other and only one bathroom (shower only). We heard there are plans for the owner to add another bathroom though. (the outdoor bldg pictured is very cute....we heard the future washer/dryer and the future bathroom will be out there) The website pics are a mix of older pics. The house now has a nice privacy fence where you don't see into the neighbors' yard on the right 's very private. We met the neighbors and they're nice people.
