This home showcases an 180 degree Gulf view, features a boardwalk to the beach, and sleeps 10. 2 king bedrooms and a bedroom with 2 twin beds are upstairs. The fourth bedroom with 2 more twin beds is downstairs and is separate from the main house. Ground floor is not internally connected. This home is as close to the beach as you can get on Mustang Island! This beach house has a very nice and very large open floor plan including the dinning room, living room, and kitchen. This home is great for gatherings and is very popular! If you would like to rent it, you better call us now! No Smoking. Dogs are welcome.
Parking Rules for Lost Colony
1. No parking allowed in the street or blocking the common drive. *Each unit has 2 vehicles maximum per unit including guest parking.
2. No Parking a bus, boat, boat trailer, trailer, motorcycle, camper, RV, house trailer, or vehicle over 1 ton anywhere except an approved overflow parking area.
3. No storing a disabled vehicle on property outside of a personal garage.
4. There is no parking allowed in the grass/landscaping.
5. No using another owner's driveway to park.
*There is overflow parking. It is located to your right as you drive in the gate.

- This is a PET-FRIENDLY RENTAL. Pet fees are an additional $20.00+tax, per pet, per night. A maximum 3 pets are allowed. Additionally, a pet-cleaning fee is also charged, which is $50 for stays of 7 days or less, $75 for stays of 8-29 days, and $100 for stays of 30 or more days.

Beach Paradise!

This is our second return trip in less than a year and we will be back again!! The location is fabulous, right on the beach. The views are outstanding. The house is well appointed and has everything you'll need. This has become our new beach get-a-way as we love it here!!

Wonderful

Got this house for a intimate ceremony. Needless to say, we were astonished! Balcony and window views are amazing! Chairs outside did not get hot even with sunbathing all day.
Extremely small mishaps, like the cable on TV not working, but we were at the beach on vacation, so was our least concern to report to get fixed. For anyone concerned about little critters, like bugs, I only seen one but was dying due to the property being maintained/exterminated well.
Ideal location- to not only the beach but to Port Aransas and Padre.
Any time that I had questions or concerns before arrival, I would call and speak with someone immediately and they were also so helpful and nice to us.
Wonderful and beautiful house that I would love to return back to. Would definitely recommend the stay!

Great location for a relaxing weekend
Awesome location and we had a great time. Check in/check out was simple, but a bit confusing at first. I received a communication to go to the office to pick up the key, but then received a text message with door code. This is my second time staying here and we had to pick up a key the last time, but we got checked in ok. The house itself is ok and could use some updating although I did notice the master shower was redone. Pretty much everything else was the same as the last time I stayed here with some of the furniture a bit more worn. A little high price point wise for the condition, but it's the location that I came back for. We did have a minor problem with roaches and ants and the management team was fairly responsive and said they would take care of it. The maintenance guy did not show up until the next day - a heads up would have been nice. Overall, this is a great place to stay and enjoy the ocean and I do recommend it.

Overall. Good, the location and view were the best. House could be cleaner, could use paint on kitchen and bathroom cabinets. I wish they had an elevator and wish the washer and dryer were in the house not in the garage. Had dry clothes out of the dryer but they got wet from the rain trying to get back in the house. They need a broom closet, the maid left the broom/ mop in the corner by the sliding glass door by the kitchen table.

Great Getaway

The house was in a good location to the beach & ours was right next to the boardwalk so that was nice. The bedrooms we great to accommodate all 10 of us. We couldn’t find any trash bags so we had to go buy some & the dumpsters are far from the house. The house was clean and the deck area was nice to sit on in the evenings. The staff was amazing to talk to, very friendly and helpful. Overall a great getaway!

Great stay, unfortunately the down stairs room had fleas, and was for us unusable this stay. Pest control did come while we were there. We have been fortunate to be able to book this unit several times before (dog friendly and we bring the pooches; this was the first major issue we encountered. Wonderful location several times before, love the view from the patio. We will be back!

Beach Escape

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and loved being so close to the ocean waves. The house was a great home base as we are two families traveling together. We enjoyed playing games at the kitchen table with the ocean in view. There were plenty of places to sleep comfortably. The downstairs bedroom was a nice escape where the kids felt like they had their own little apartment. The house had everything we needed. There were a few maintenance items such as broken wheel on outdoor chaise lounge, sliding door was a bit wobbly, can opener was subpar, and the heat did not seem to work. We were here for NYE and had some chilly nights. But all in all we were happy with our stay here.

As usual Port A Escapes did not disappoint. Titus Sandcastle was exactly as pictured. We had brand new loungers for the deck, and we pretty much lived on them when we weren't in the water or on the beach. The beds were comfty and the brand new master bath was lovely.

Best Beach House on the Island

Booking, check in and check out were a breeze! The home was perfectly located and very clean! Enough space to sleep our group with lots of places to hang out and relax. The beds, pillows and couch are especially comfy and the home is comfortable. We especially loved the deck area and spent most of our time there! We will be back again!! Never staying anywhere else!

Overall, a very good visit. A couple of minor issues. A leak in the ceiling over the upstairs bed. Maintenance quickly came out and remedied the situation. Item 2 - ice make did not work. Reported upon departure. Item 3 - issue with ants. Sprayed and kept food up. I would highly recommend this property.

Fabulous place for a large family
Well equipped home with plenty of space. Everything functioned properly except the ice maker was frozen. We emptied and reset - within 12 hours we had ice. This was a wonderful home for families and had more than enough space for everyone. Right on the beach! Boardwalk over the dunes just steps away. Awning wasn’t functioning only downfall. Home is a bit dated and needs some repair. Windows were dirty and a bit disappointing.

This was our 4th stay in this home as it is the perfect location overlooking the beach. It is an older home and starting to show some wear and tear but still in pretty good shape. They made some recent upgrades such as a new refrigerator, dishwasher and coffee maker. This is the first time we had an ant problem in the kitchen but management was told and said they would spray. Overall we love the place but they should do some upgrades throughout the house.

There are not a lot of places in Port A where you can be steps from the beach and this house is ONE of the few. We love Lost Colony and have stayed in other homes. This was the best so far. Great panoramic views. Clean home. Great Housekeeping. You do need to bring your own, chairs, canopy, toys, beach towels, if you want those items. The staff at Port A Escapes is so kind and friendly and informative. Easy check in/out. We are already looking to come back this year...!

The rental was overall clean. The only issue was the separate room downstairs was not cleaned upon arrival. It was not a problem because we did not need it,so we didn't inform management. The view was spectacular! We didn't want to leave! The only suggestion I have is if you are feeding a crowd bring a large fry pan or a flat griddle as it only has a 9" fry pan.

The house was great and the overall experience was exactly what we expected. I would certainly rent this house again. The only negative was we needed cleaning supplies in the kitchen besides dish washing soap. We ran out of the 2 kitchen hand towels very quickly and had to use bathroom hand towels. We needed spray or Clorox wipes for the counters to be able to keep everything clean during our stay. I will add that to my packing list going forward. Other than that we had a great time and house was in a superior location.

I love Tita's Sandcastle as the location could not be more perfect. I have rented this home for my family for the last 3 years. Although the home could use some upgrades, it is still a great facility. It is very clean and well equipped. The only bad experience I had was I found a giant roach in the downstairs room. I would suggest you have it treated regularly due do its exposure. I will stay here again.

We would love some hooks in the bathrooms to hang robes, pj's, anything!!! And the shower/tub on the third floor was pretty weird set up. Many Thanks for allowing our sweet pups to come along (or frankly we wouldn't have gone on this trip.) We'll DEFN be back.
We would love some hooks in the bathrooms to hang robes, pj's, anything!!! And the shower/tub on the third floor was pretty weird set up. Many Thanks for allowing our sweet pups to come along (or frankly we wouldn't have gone on this trip.) We'll DEFN be back.

The Thomas Family Summer Vacation

Each summer we look forward to our annual stay at Lost Colony in Tita's Sandcastle #17. It is the condo closest to the water at Lost Colony.We have been coming to Lost Colony for some years now since our grandchildren were babies and they are now teenagers. The youngest is almost five and he was upset when we left the condo as he had such a great time. The unit is perfect for our size family. We look forward to our stay there every summer.

Great Location

This house has a great location. It is literally right on the beach. Not separated by dunes, etc. It's a bit older and although it was very clean, the house is showing a bit of wear and tear. Especially the small downstairs bedroom that is separate from the rest of the house. And if you don't like stairs this is not for you. Very steep stairs up to master and stairs down into the sunken living area as well. But we enjoyed our stay, mostly due to the directly on the beach location.

We had a wonderful time! The cottage has been nicely renovated since our last stay and it's the perfect place for a family vacation....right on the ocean, with gorgeous views from most bedrooms, comfortable beds, spacious communal areas, fully stocked kitchen, 4 bathrooms and bedrooms, plus a sleeper couch.

Best condo at Lost Colony #17 Tita's Sandcastle

Tita's Sandcastle is our favorite condo for our family vacation each summer. It is the closest condo to the beach at Lost Colony. We have many fond memories of our trips to Port Aransas at #17 over the years. The staff at the agency are very nice to do business with. I highly recommend them in finding vacation rentals.

Overall a wonderful experience. Patrick at Porta Escapes made the difference. Great businessman. Couldn't use one room...toxic oder....I'm sure no one else will experience this. Patrick will see to it. Broken ice maker. There were 9 of us. Had to buy paper products, and garbage bags. Ad states 11 can be accomidated. Great ocean view. Very nice home. Good furnishings. Hard and old mattresses. We'd go again anyway! And stay in the same house....Thanks Patrick!

Great getaway
We have stayed at LC 3 times and this rental is the best. Updated bathrooms and kitchen. One suggestion would be helpful to stock a few trash bags, salt and pepper and laundry detergent just to start people out. These are things you forget to bring!! Loved it, will go again next year.

BIG Family Vacation

This is our 5th year we have spent at this home for a summer family vacation with our children and grandchildren. We stay there mainnly because of the unbeatable view and the easy access to the beach. This year, we noticed that the property was very clean and new patio furniture had been added. I hesitate to reccommend it because it is already hard to book.

It was the ultimate family vacation spot. We could not have enjoyed the beach more; the weather was perfect the whole time (maybe little windy a couple of days) but, overall was just great. Grandsons, ages 6 & 10, could not have enjoyed the sand/waves/gulls/sand crabs/etc more. Even though it was an expensive vacation for us, the house was comfortable for all and the views fantastic all the time. Plenty of hot water and the AC worked great. We feel blessed to have had this, probably once in a lifetime, wonderful family adventure. We will relive the memories many times from our photos. Thanks. enjoy the journey, the alleys

Port A weekend get-away
Beautiful view and beach access. There was abundant room so all were comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and complete with enough pots, pans, and utencils for cooking and socializing.

Spring Break 2012
We shared the home with another family. Having 4br/4ba was perfect for us. The boys (18 and 13) loved the lower level bedroom with it's separate entrance, but I would think anyone with very young children could find that room not working very well.
