For even larger groups check out our sister property located directly behind The Big Kahuna; House of Views. The two houses combined offer 12 bedrooms with two private pools! A maximum of 5 cars can be parked at this home and ABSOLUTELY NO STREET PARKING OR BOATS. No pets allowed and no smoking inside the home.

Fantastic Beach House For A Large Group
The Big Kahuna house was fabulous! We had 11 people in our group and it was plenty spacious for all of us. The house was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well-equipped.

There was actually an issue with the pool in a differnt house that we originally rented. However, the management team at Port Aransas Escapes immediately found another house for us without any issues or complications. They were very professional and accommodating.

The Whole Fam Bam Vacation 2025
This was the first time we vacationed with our whole family of 15 and we were pleasantly surprised by how much room we all had. The second floor living/family area was great! Loved having the pool to cool off after a day at the beach and the short boardwalk to the beach! Overall, very clean and maintained.

Wedding Weekend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our families as we tied the knot at the beach! The rooms were perfect and plenty of restrooms. The wide open kitchen and living were perfect for our dinners together. The golf cart was a great bonus as well. They were responsive to our needs and made our vacation easy!

Family get away Sep. 2024

Great Vacation rental

We had a girls' trip with 16 ladies, and this home was absolutely amazing. The house was clean and beautiful, offering a perfect setting for our getaway. However, I have two suggestions for improvement. First, the bottom mattress of the trundle bed on the third floor needs an upgrade; you can literally feel the springs. Second, adding blackout curtains to that room would be beneficial, as it gets very bright and warmer up there. Additionally, though a minor point, several of us wished there was at least one full-length mirror. Overall, everything else was fantastic!

Multi-Family vacation
Great home for our families. 4 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms on 1st level was great for older kids/young adults. 2nd level set up was perfect with 2 king suites. 3rd floor held our youngest with a day bed. She had her own space with her own TV. The description says there is a room with 2 kings in the bottom level but there were actually two separate rooms each with a king and that worked even better for us. We would rent again in a heartbeat.

Birthday Weekend
House and location were fantastic. The only downside was the pool was not clean. We called management on Friday and Saturday, and they said someone would be out to clean the pool, no one ever came.

Great hone for large groups!
Great house for entertaining large groups. Well stocked with everything you’ll need. Easy walk to a beautiful beach, and the golf cart was a great addition! Close to restaurants and bars. Big thumbs up!

Great Stay
10 adults, perfect amount of bedrooms....loved that none of the beds were short bunk beds. Location was great, kitchen well stocked. Everyone was comfortable and some said let's stay here again. Had issues w wifi [like most places] someone came out at 10pm and got it running again.

Awesome home for large group
This home was perfect for our large group of 16 (4 families). Everyone had plenty of space to sleep and get ready. The kitchen was great for all eating together and playing games. We would definitely stay again. Clean and beautiful!

Beautiful Beach House
We stayed in this beautiful enormous well stocked beach house for a family of 12 vacay. It had everything we needed. PortA Escapes was friendly and quickly met our needs on a couple of issues we had. The bedrooms were fabulous, kitchen was over the top and well stocked with quality essentials. No need to bring anything from home, just clothes and food! Location was spot on. Short walk to the beach while so close to activities in town. We will definitely return.

The Big Kahuna
Great location and property! Six couples enjoyed our stay. Only issue was bathrooms. Some of us had issues because of bathroom locations. But we understand, that that was unavoidable. The landscaping people cut the grass and the pool got real dirty when some of us wanted to get in. Everything else was great.

Big Kahuna Lives Up to it's Name
Always the best time for our annual BUNCO trip with 16 girls! Cannot say enough about this wonderful home! Would be nice if the pool floaties were in better shape and the bikes were ridible but all in all - gorgeous house! Ice maker needs work. Extra fridge is a BONUS! Perfect for a large family
This was our 2nd time with Port A Rentals and the Big Kahuna was fantastic. Fully stocked house with two fridges which was a nice touch. Large enough to sleep 2-3 families. Our party had 10 and it was great. Awesome dining table, cold a/c, perfect location and nice pool to hop in after the beach. Only negative is you are right on top of your neighbors so it can get quite loud at night. Would def rent again.

Great place for family trip or large group!
Our family plans an annual trip to Port A and we prefer to be in one house if possible! This year we booked the Big Kahuna and it proved to be perfect for our family! With 14 of us, there was plenty of room for all! The bottom floor had 4 bedrooms (2 king beds and 4 queen beds). The two rooms with the 2queens have an adjoining bathroom while the 2 king rooms share a full bath in the hallway. The second floor has 2 king suites, kitchen/living area n 1/2 bath. Third floor has day bed with trundle (which were super comfy) and a twin sleeper sofa! There is also a 1/2 bath on third floor! Kids enjoyed games and foosball table! Plenty of parking for 5 cars! I think we loved the pool the best as we spent one day just at the house in our lil pool! Charcoal BBQ pit was great! Wifi available although we had issues off and on with staying connected! All beds were very comfy, house was clean...Overall great experience!!

Coastal Luxury
From the time we checked in at Port Aransas Escapes to check out, it was a top class experience. The staff was friendly and professional. The home we rented "the Big Kahuna" was beyond our expectations. Beautifully decorated, well stocked and spotless. Lots of room for all of us. The pool was small and in the shade most of the day, so was not used by us. The community pool was nice with plenty of sun, shade and a bathroom. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home.

Beautiful, Relaxing Dreamy Beach House
First, I want to say "thank-you" to the owners for this beautiful experience of sharing their wonderful beach home with our family. This beach home has it all,,its lacking nothing,,and so very nicely decorated in calming colors. There are a few views of the ocean that are not blocked of vision,,you can hear the ocean and all its voice very clearly,,and see the beautiful moon and stars from the upper balcony. We truly enjoyed my husbands 50th birthday,,and fishing and relaxing and napping. The house is very well kept up in structure and furnishings, it has plenty of room for 3-5 families and then some,,,all the rooms are so nicely decorated and the home gives you a peaceful feeling of being "at Home",,some areas needed more cleaning as the kitchen counters had some crumbs from past guests and a few blankets needed to be washed,,other than that it was clean. Everyone at Port Aransas Escapes were very helpful,,especially Lisa who professionally answered all my questions and went out of her way to help with everything. I will be sure to use them again in the near future for my next rental,,and highly recommend them and highly recommend the Big Kahuna! Port A is such a wonderful, nice place to be!!

Girlfriend Get Away
We really enjoyed the house. Loved the open kitchen to living. Would like to have had more of an ocean view but that's ok. The boardwalk was awesome.....very short. All in all it was a great house!!

Great getaway for a large group
Our family of 17 was very pleased with the Big Kahuna, which is located less than a block from the beach and easily accessed with a well-maintained footbridge. The house was spotless and in great condition. (Despite, that several members of our group spotted a few small roaches, which was most unwelcome. Nonetheless, we suspect they are hard to eradicate completely.)Another drawback is that the house is completely devoid of materials that absorb sound -- carpeting, mostly. While that makes for a sleek, chic decor, it also offers no buffer against noise, particularly for those on the lower level. The noise of other houseguests enjoying the terraces, for example, or simply moving about the house upstairs is very pronounced. Those were the two main complaints. Otherwise, the house offers everything you could want -- stunning decor, comfortable and lovely furnishings, spectacular mattresses and pillows, abundant kitchen utensils and equipment, even four beach bikes for guest use. The pool is nice, especially for small kids, but postage-stamp sized, so don't choose this house if that amenity is very important to you. Overall, we give this spacious home 8 out of 10 stars.

The Big Kahuna - 2013
Overall stay was awesome and relaxing! Plenty of room for Mima & Papa, our five children and spouses plus seven grandchildren. Like the floor plan; bedrooms on 1st floor with family gatherings upstairs in the spacious living area. Having private pool was a bonus. The high back chairs on 2nd floor deck were so comfortable! Kitchen was well equipped. Housekeeping was good in visible areas. Closet floors had sand, etc... Ants were an issue if we did not keep floor swept of crumbs and there were a few small roaches. Reported to property management upon departure and they stated would take care of. Stairs were a concern with small children (no stair gates), watched kids closely. Booked for 2014 extending a day ;)

Great Place for a Large Group
This was our second year to stay at the Big Kahuna. We had 16 people in our group. The access to the beach is easy. The kitchen/family room is large and accommodates everyone well. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cookware. The blender is awesome. There is a washer and dryer on the first and second levels. The pool was great for the kids. The chlorine level is very high, so I would recommend bringing some goggles. I would recommend this house to anyone.

Great Vacation & Reunion
It was wonderful.We couldn't have ask for anything more. The lay out of the house made it so easy for us all to be together in the same place at one time. On one day we had 42 of my family for an evening. IT WAS GREAT!!! We have a large family & it's very hard to find any where for us to be together at one time. We would rent this again in the future.

Amazing beachhouse...but
We had a wonderful time at this property. The ONLY thing that was an issue was that we saw 3 small roaches and 1 big one in the kitchen 2 of the 4 days we stayed. It kinda freaked us out but besides that everything in the house was super nice and clean despite the 'other' occupants. We told the property managers when we dropped off the key & they were very concerned & apologetic & said they would address that immediately.

Fantastic house for a family reunion
Our family of 16 had a wonderful time all under one roof! Everything was very nice and comfortable! Only thing is description is misleading - there are only 4 shower/tubs in the house, not 6. There is a 1/2 bath in the 3rd floor game room, 2 full private baths in the king suites on the 2nd floor, 1/2 bath off the kitchen, a full bath between the king rooms on the first floor and a hollywood bath (2 toilets and 1 shower) between the double bed rooms on the first floor. A plus was an extra refrigerator in the garage for all your beverages - nice to have! The property was hard to find at first, lots of construction in the area; but just a short walk to the beach! Overall, we loved it and would recommend it to anyone!!!!

Fun but cool
We had a nice time at the Big Kahuna. Lots of room, good facilities. The only negative was the cool wx so the water was refreshing. The house pool needs to be heated/open more to some sun so the pool could be used during times like this.
They've also built several other units VERY close by (u can jump from one patio to the next door neighbors), so I'd be a little concerned about some privacy/noise.

Spring Break Family Fun
This rental was better than we expected! The accommodations were wonderful and spacious (9 kids under eight years old and eleven adults with 3 visiting). Although the weather was not Spring Break weather, the location to the beach could not have been better, 2 minute walk; the kitchen had everything we could have needed to feed the amount of people we had; bedrooms and bathrooms were just the right size, comfortable bedding and perfect bathrooms for our needs; common area was spacious for several activities to go on without any problems; the pool and patio areas would have been great despite the weather; 3rd floor was great for the kids to play f-ball (wish dart board would had all the pieces and working; or had more games than advertized but still awesome! Parking was not a problem either and location to stores/restaurants. Would will totally come back for our next reunion!

Perfect Family Getaway!
The house was exactly as described on the website. It was perfect for my Christmas family get-together. There were 18 people and we fit perfectly in the home and never felt like we were crowded.
The only thing we would change is the private pool. A hottub would be used much more than the small pool. But all in all it was a fabulous experience and we want to come back next year!

Great Place
Our family stayed 5 nights and had a great time. We had 16 (including 6 children). The pool was great, but the chlorine was a little strong. We just used goggles and enjoyed it. The open kitchen/family room is great for a big crowd. The kitchen is well stocked. We will definitely be going back next year.

Beautiful Place Fun fun fun!
We were so lucky to be able to stay at the big kahuna. Our Bunco group had an absolutely great time at this place. House has every thing you could possibly need. We are stilling talking about how much fun this place is. Planning on going back.

Awesome beach house!
The Big Kahuna was absolutely everything we could want for our large family. It was beautifully decorated all throughout, had a very spacious living area/kitchen area to all hang out in, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We would definitely recommend this house for a vacation spot. We will be coming back for sure!
