Great place. Wonderful balconies with great views! We loved the kids room with all of the bunk beds. Plenty of room for everyone. We had a great time.Anonymous from Boerne - Posted: 6/11/2024

Friends and I were able to spend some time in Port Aransas, and had a great time. The house is in the perfect location, close to Port A and to Corpus. We loved just hanging out on the deck and tower. The beach was clean, and not crowded. I hope to go back again soon. Thanks for having this place available!Anonymous from Franklin - Posted: 9/25/2023
Thank you so much for your review! We hope to see you guys again soon !Port A Escapes staff
The rental was clean, comfortable and well maintained. For our size group we used all the bedrooms. The only downside was 2 of the bedrooms were only accessable from the outside. The downstairs was like it's own self-contained unit. It was very nice.Anonymous from GRANBURY - Posted: 8/22/2023

The Keller family trip to Port “A” was great!!! We had four perfect days at the beach... not a cloud in the sky!
We LOVE “Pelican Place”... it’s perfect for our family of eleven!
It was a comfortable home away from home!Anonymous from SAN ANTONIO - Posted: 7/20/2023
We are so pleased your family enjoyed your time at Pelicans Place! We can't wait to have you stay with us again!Port A Escapes staff
Enjoyed the House! Plenty of beds and space for multiple families. Kitchen is stocked for all your cooking needs. Unfortunately, the beach access was a problem for us. This location only provides a walking boardwalk. note - no golf cart access. We Had canopies, coolers, toys so we had to drive to beach access 2 (2 miles) or beach access 1 (5.7 miles).
Bathrooms very clean, beds clean, kitchen clean! Living area needs some attention.
Overall, lovely house. But we will not stay here again due to location.Anonymous from Pflugerville - Posted: 8/9/2022
Thank you for staying with Port A Escapes! Check out our website or give us a call to find a rental on or near the beach!!Port A Escapes staff
Our mother is 90 years and has always loved the beach since growing up in California on the beach! She has leukemia and many health issues that come along with age. But....she is determined to carry on with our family traditions and one is always a yearly trip to Padre Islands! We chose this property so she would not have to climb stairs and it worked out perfectly! We love the Lost Colonies area and have stayed several times in different homes on property. It is one of the best and most convenient beach front properties for all ages! This is our family time and love the privacy to just enjoy each other!!Anonymous from Gatesville - Posted: 8/1/2022

This place is very nice!! This was our first time renting this place and we all loved it. It was very clean, easy to access, close to town but out of the way enough get away from the traffic and it had plenty of room inside and on the patio deck.Anonymous from Allen - Posted: 7/29/2022

We had a great time staying at Pelican's Place!Anonymous from Boerne - Posted: 8/27/2019
We brought our family of 6 adults and four kids down to port A for some fun on the beach and relaxation.Anonymous from ROANOKE - Posted: 7/16/2019
My only wish is that the house had a bigger kitchen and dining area. We had 6 adults and 5 teenagers and so we had to eat in shifts. Several adults in the kitchen made it difficult to work together on meal preparations. Otherwise, the walk to the beach was short and the decks were in the shadow of the house in the afternoons and it was very pleasant sitting outside in July. All days but one had a breeze that kept it pleasant and the mosquitoes away.Anonymous from Huntsville - Posted: 7/14/2019
This home was the perfect set up for our group of 8 adults and 1 toddler. We didn’t use the room with 2 sets of bunk beds this trip but plan too in the future when we return with more grandkids! One issue we had the first night and next morning was that some of the breakers had been tripped and we didn’t have use of several outlets, microwave, TV. The breaker box is in the garage and the garage is locked and renters don’t have access. A phone call to Port A Escapes and a maintenance guy was there within an hour or two and corrected the problem. The bottom floor area does have a musty smell but having air freshener available will help with this issue.Anonymous from Blanket - Posted: 6/11/2019
We stayed here with 3 families for memorial day weekend. We absolutely loved the house. Great sleeping options and open layout for socializing. A few outlets did go out during our stay and we couldn't find the breaker box. However, we notified maintenance upon check out and I'm sure they are taking care of it. I'd love to stay here again. Beach is visible from 3rd floor balcony. If you want to see beachfront from all levels, you need a house within Lost Colony closer to the front of the property.Anonymous from Corpus Christi - Posted: 5/29/2019
We had the best time! House was lovely and very clean. Short walk to the beach. Great for the kids (ages 5,6,7) and the teenagers enjoyed having their own little private apartment. We will most definitely be back!!Anonymous from Piedmont - Posted: 4/8/2019
We made a quick fall run to the coast. The guys fished and the gals played on the beach. We had a great stay and enjoyed Pelican’s place.Anonymous from San Angelo - Posted: 10/13/2018
We had a great time in port A. The House was very nice. The downstairs apartment was a little musty smelling, but clean. Great place to stay would recommend to friends and would stay there again.Anonymous from austin - Posted: 9/25/2018
The house was perfect for our large family. Close to the beach and the pool was great to hang out at when we had enough of the beach but the kids weren't ready to quit playing! My daughter enjoyed the Nemo theme in the bunk room! We visited a few restaurants in 'town' and were pleased by all! Glad to see most have recovered from Harvey<3Anonymous from Austin - Posted: 9/5/2018
This is our 3rd time renting Pelican's Place. Love the new renovations. Great value for space. We will stay there again.Anonymous from Boerne - Posted: 8/15/2018
We love the house the location was perfect! Plenty of space for 3 family's. Everything you need is there. Only bad thing was the mosquitoes where so bad outside couod even open the doors with fear they would get inside I don't know if was the time of year that we went or if they are always that bad it made it hard to cook outside they where so bad. Besides that has nothing to to with the home but just be aware to bring LOTS of off.Anonymous from San Angelo - Posted: 7/26/2018
We had a great time. The home easily accommodated all 12 of us. It was very close to the boardwalk, making a walk to the beach about 5 min. We had a couple of maintenance issues which were handled quickly by the rental company. One issue we had (a leak in the downstairs ceiling) did cause a problem and rather than let the maintenance people take care of it, the owner opted to have his own people fix it, which did not happen. We reported it the day we got there and were there a week. We called a couple of other times during the week, to let them know the problem was still there and getting bigger. Obviously the problem was much larger when we left than when we reported it. Besides which, one of our sons had to empty the bucket on a daily basis. I would recommend a week supply of garbage bags, coffee filters and dishwasher detergent. That is what we usually get for a rental. It makes no sense to purchase whole packages of those items and then have to throw them away. Also could have used a couple of extra bath towels and an extra sheet for a couch. Basically, a very good time in a roomy, nice home.Anonymous from Pateros - Posted: 7/25/2018
Our whole family had a wonderful, comfortable stay at Pelican's Place. From us, the grandparents, to our 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, we all agreed that is is our best accommodations so far for our yearly trip to the beach..
Anonymous from Austin - Posted: 7/2/2018
Was a very nice property, upon arrival there was an issue with the AC management a worker to move is for a few days while repair was completed. Overall was a great week.Anonymous from Katy - Posted: 6/17/2018
This was the 4th time we have vacationed there with family and were very pleased with the upgrades that had been made since we were there two years ago. Another helpful upgrade would be to renew the decking on the main floor to avoid risk of splinters or stubbed toes. All in all a super time was had by all.

The vacation home was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, cozy and the perfect size for our family reunion vacation. Beautifully decorated, offers a great view of the beach from top bedroom. We absolutely thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!Anonymous from Edmond - Posted: 7/22/2017
Outside of a shortage of bath towels, and an unexpected encounter with a centipede, we had a wonderful stay. Property is well located, beach was not very crowded and property was perfect for extended family. Two separate living areas worked well. Ocean view from top level was amazing.Anonymous from Waco - Posted: 6/25/2017
We were a group of 4 families. A wonderful weekend was had by all. This beachhouse was perfect. Clean. Roomy. Comfortable. No complaints at all. We will be booking this house again. The staff was awesome and extremely friendly. Absolutely loved our stay.Anonymous from Houston - Posted: 5/3/2017

Great place to stay. Nothing super fancy but PLENTY of space. Great deck. Easy to get to the beach. The couches are old, that's my only complaint.Anonymous from San Antonio - Posted: 8/16/2016
House and location were great. The only problem we had was with the mosquitoes. We were unable to use any of the outdoor areas. I'm not sure anything could have been done about this. Otherwise, very nice.Anonymous from FLOWER MOUND - Posted: 7/17/2016
We have stayed a number of different places on the island, and this by far has been the best. The area on the beach was clean. It was not packed so the family could spread out and enjoy the day. It was a short distance to the beach and the pool was great for the young kids!Anonymous from Christoval - Posted: 7/11/2016
Love staying at this house. Always clean and just a short walk to the beach. Have stayed here a couple of times within the past 5 years always good time, but it is time for some repairs (deck boards in bad shape, french door needs replaced, etc) Normal wear and tear from beach houses. But I would stay there again tommorow for sure.Anonymous from Elmendorf - Posted: 6/22/2016

We stayed there with a big group 14, 10 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room and the house was spectacular. It wasn't very far from the beach at all and the view from the third story balcony was amazing! We are planning on coming back again next year and we will be staying here again!Anonymous from Corpus Christi - Posted: 9/12/2015

We had a wonderful stay at this house and the management has a great app. to help with everything. Beautiful views of the shore from the top deck, and a really short walk to the beach on the boardwalk. house was very clean with ample towels and utensils. A large washer & dryer helped our group a lot. The only bumps to the rental was, the fridge door was hard to keep shut,no hookups on t.v. in kids room for Xbox & video games, and no grill. Other than these three little probs., the house was a fantastic place for our vacation. The grandkids really enjoyed the pool after coming back from the beach. (On a side note, it is in a HOA, only 4 autos allowed in drive, with no street parking.)Anonymous from Hurst - Posted: 8/11/2015

We rented our first beach house. We have always stayed in condos. However, our family has grown so much we now need a much larger space. This beach house was perfect for us. The kids and their wives and children slept in the downstairs apartment. The rest of us slept in the upstairs quarters. Place was clean, cool and comfortable. Close to the beach and the pool was small but nice.Anonymous from Lockhart - Posted: 7/29/2015
Pelican's Place was Awesome!! Lots of space for the whole family, very clean well kept. Short walk to the beach and pool. We enjoyed it so much we plan to make this a yearly family trip!Anonymous from San Angelo - Posted: 6/8/2015
Although it was raining half the time we still enjoyed our stay. It was a quick walk to the beach, and the beach was very nice! The house was very comfortable and had a beachy homey feel to it. We stayed in most of the time and used the kitchen, there were 12 of us and it was the perfect size! We definitely will consider staying here again in the future!Anonymous from Kingsland - Posted: 5/27/2015
The place was perfect, location was great. Almost like a private beach.Anonymous from Cedar Park - Posted: 5/19/2015
Overall the house was clean, with pictures on website thought you could see the beach from house, no BBQ grill, had to purchase one. Would reccomend it to friends but explain that there are several flights of stairs on outside of house to get to each level of the house.Anonymous - Posted: 4/9/2015
Very comfortable house for 4 to 5 couples and their kids. Needed pot holders, and 3 barbecue pits were unusable due to rust. Texans need to grill! But otherwise very great Christmas vacation.Anonymous from San Antonio - Posted: 12/28/2014
Great time. Unit worked well for all 11 of us. We have found the weather in September to be just about right. Very helpful to have Wi-Fi work very well.Anonymous from Ponder - Posted: 10/6/2014
We had a Great WeekendAnonymous from san antonio - Posted: 9/17/2014
We had such a great time! The size was perfect for our large group and we actually liked having the space below separate from the main living spaces. The walking distance to the beach was nothing. Would definitely stay again.Anonymous from Schulenburg - Posted: 9/10/2014
We had three couples each wih small kids with no issues at all, everyone had a great time and were planning on going back.Anonymous from Whitney - Posted: 9/9/2014
I stayed with a group of friends this past weekend and this home was great! It was very clean, air conditioner and all appliances worked, and it was very close to the beach. There is a boardwalk right on site that heads to the beach and is only a 3-5 min walk. I have stayed at a couple other places in port a and this one has been my favorite. I will hope to get this place again next year and recommend to anyone looking for a vacation beach house!!!Anonymous from Austin - Posted: 8/12/2014
We had wonderful time. Great space for the family to spread out. The property was clean and well maintained. Short walk to the beach, close beach road access also.Anonymous from Boerne - Posted: 7/20/2014
We had 4 families- 12 people staying 5 days at the condo at it was very accomodating sleeping quarters. The condo was clean. Nice short walk to the board walk to get to the beach. A few repairs need to be made though to maintain, such as the outdoor shower had a major leak in the hose rendering it useless, the garden hose had several leaks in it as well. The ceiling in the main floor bedroom/bathroom by the ceiling vent needs repair and possible mold removed around it. It was soft and wet like around the vent. Noticed that the furnace closet smelled very musty as well, not sure if there is mold in there or not. Overall the accomodations were very nice for our large group and would return again in the future.Anonymous from Bismark - Posted: 7/14/2014
The place was very nice but I was a little disappointed in some things. The only way you could see the water was if you were on the 3rd story balcony. In the description of the house, it was not stated that you had to walk outside to get to the 1st and 2nd story. The laundry room was in the 1st story, so that was a bummer. This is not the house's problem, but there was a lot of seaweed when we were there. The pool we were to use was green, and the property management never called back when I left a message to complain. Overall the house was nice, but in the description of the property you should let your renter know about the stairs connecting the 1st and 2nd story and the view of the water. Also, the house sleeps 12 people and there is not enough parking to accommodate several families in the driveway.Anonymous from Elgin - Posted: 7/8/2014
The house was great and in a great location near the beach. It housed our group of 11 perfectly. The only negatives were the bottom level not being attached to the upper two levels. It would have been nice to not go outside to get to the main living area/kitchen. It also would have been nice if items like hangers in the closets would have been provided.Anonymous from Norman - Posted: 6/28/2014
This our second year staying in this house. We come once a year after last year we had to get this house again it has a lot of room and it's not far from the beach at all. Our family totally loves it we are hoping to be back again in July and we want the same house tooAnonymous from SA - Posted: 5/20/2014
i interacted with a few ladies at the head office and all were exceptional. Lisa specifically was incredible and i was absolutely impressed with how flexible she was with me and my booking situation. thank you for making that happen!Anonymous from Katy - Posted: 4/12/2014
We had a terrific time at the Pelicans Place. I would highly recommend this location to others considering a rental just a nit out of town. For us the location was perfect as we didn't want to be to close to the Spring Break crowds. The only negative I could say about this house was the disconnect from the lower lover. We had 5 couples in our party and two of them who slept on the first level had to go outside in the rain to come up to the 2nd floor main level to join the rest of us for dinner or just socializing.Anonymous from Quinlan - Posted: 3/15/2014

Only real negative was the distance to town. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, the beds were very comfortable and the furnishing were adequate for 8-10. The deck was huge. Had a great month stay and would do it again.Anonymous from Omaha - Posted: 3/6/2014

Our experience was very good. The property allowed everyone room to spread out. There are great views of the gulf from the top balcony. The boardwalk allowed access to the beach. It was great for our needs.Anonymous from Schertz - Posted: 10/22/2013
Arrived and everything was as advertised. Plenty of space for everyone. Super close to the beach!
Would definitely come again.Anonymous from Prosper - Posted: 8/27/2013
Pelican's Place fit the needs for our party of 11. The pool was disappointing because it was so small and the water was very warm. The house was clean except for the floors, because our 11 month old grand daughter's knees were black after a few minutes of crawling on the floor. There was only one extra trash bag so we had to buy more bags.
The couches were old and were very uncomfortable to sit on. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean but only one towel per person, so we had to wash them daily.
We will not be staying there next summer, but overall we had a great time with friends and the space fit our needs.Anonymous from Fredricksburg - Posted: 8/13/2013
The house was really good, there were a couple of things I would change if I could. The master bath was really small and had a wierd door. FYI-Found a live scorpion on master bed on Sun (still had one more night) my grand daughter left her quilt in one of the rooms downstairs, hopefully we will get that back and all will be great. All in all, a very nice house!Anonymous from Arlington - Posted: 7/31/2013
We loved the beach house. The third level has the master BR all by itself with a private deck. That was nice.
The main living area is on level two with two bedrooms and a large deck.
My only complaint is the bottom level has a totally separate entrance from the rest of the house.
We were having an office retreat and that seemed to separate our staff into two groups who didn't see each other much.
But that would be a great arrangement for a large family who wanted to put grandparents or inlaws in a separate area.
Overall it was a nice house and I would recommend it.Anonymous from San Antonio - Posted: 7/25/2013
We had 5 couples in our group, so enjoyed staying in a home with 5 bedrooms. Overall, we enjoyed the rental house and the rate was one of the best on the island for the space. The short walk to the beach was also a plus. Being away from town made the beach less crowded, which we "older" folks appreciated. Some areas of the house, however, need some help. The two bedrooms downstairs were adequate, but the beds were way too soft and not in great shape. The thermostat downstairs was set at 78 degrees and could not be adjusted. The smell of ant spray was very strong in the entire downstairs area. It was difficult for the two couples downstairs to go outside and climb the stairs to the second floor anytime we ate or wanted to visit. Also, when we first arrived, we had to open windows upstairs in an attempt to get rid of the extremely strong and stagnant smell of heavy cigarette smoke. After turning on the fans, the smell faded after a day. The sliding glass door in the bedroom with the bunk beds and upstairs with the king bed had several door blinds missing - which allowed the sun to come in early and no privacy at night in the rooms. In the bedroom with the twin beds, someone needs to do a little maintenance and trim the underside of the upper mattress which hangs down like cobwebs over the lower mattress.
The best bedroom is upstairs on the 3rd floor. It has the king bed, a small bathroom, and a sliding glass door to the upper deck, where parts of the Gulf of Mexico can be seen.
The entire home was very clean. I think the home is fine for someone wanting to be close to the beach and on a fairly limited budget. Personally, I would have liked to have had all bedrooms in the main house, things a little upgraded, and enough furniture in the living room area for socialization.Anonymous from Marble Falls - Posted: 7/4/2013
Had a great time. Really liked condo. Very nice and clean.Anonymous from San Antonio - Posted: 5/21/2013
We had 11 people, and it was plenty of room. There was a BBQ pit, even though they said there wasn't. You can fit 5 cars in the driveway easily. The porch speakers didn't work, but I managed to get one to work.Anonymous from Austin - Posted: 5/8/2013
Easy access to the beach away from the crowds.Anonymous from Ardmore - Posted: 4/30/2013
The house was great. We had one major problem. Home maintenance, driveway work, sprinkler installation were all going on during our stay ruining several days of fishing plans. We still don't really know who to blame for all the trouble this caused but to the management's credit, they worked to make things right and we appreciated that.Anonymous from Hunt - Posted: 10/27/2012
The property was great the management has the most wonderful staff.Overall I would stay at lcv 23 again because everyone who came raved about what a wonderful place it was.Anonymous from Kennedale - Posted: 10/10/2012
Very pleased. We had 7 adults and 3 small children and the accommodations fit us well. Access to beach was very convenient. Unit has some minor maintenance needs that were reported. Property managers were very helpful and responsive. Recommend the owner provide wi-fi.Anonymous from Ponder - Posted: 9/23/2012
Can't wait to come back next year....we loves the location, the staff was great....only thing was there were a few light bulbs out and we called to get new ones and we never got them but other than that we loved the house and the staff was greatAnonymous from Hurst - Posted: 8/2/2012
We had a blast! Only thing we would change were the stickers in the grass...Anonymous from Salado - Posted: 7/20/2012
Our group was made up of 4 families--myself and my husband; my sister, her husband, and small kids; my other sister; and my parents.
We appreciated the proximity to the beach and the views. We also loved the outdoor deck, which we enjoyed taking in the ocean breezes every evening. It was very relaxing! :) Having that much space available to us was great, and the layout of the home was nice. There were plenty of towels available too.
Things we didn't like as much:
-Pictures show there is a grill on the property. Please note there is NOT one.
-A lot of the outdoor furniture is in very, very poor condition; some of it unusable entirely. We had to prop some of the plastic Adirondack chairs up against the wall when we sat in them to prevent them from cracking any further and dropping us.
-A lot of things were broken: the sliding blinds in the living room were missing most of their slats, the mirror in the turquoise room was cracked, etc. But I guess that isn't entirely unusual for a rental property.
-We found there were a LOT of mosquitoes in the area. The day we arrived, there were 4 or 5 of them on each of us at a time as soon as we got out of our cars! Once the breezes kicked in the next day, and the temperatures warmed up, it improved a lot. But just be sure to bring bug spray, especially walking around the boardwalk area...
-Dishes were interesting. The downstairs kitchenette had no silverware at all, and only a couple of wine glasses. There were, however, plenty of plates. You might do better to bring your own plasticware and cups. Also note there were NO paper towels provided at all, and only 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, so we had to get the rest ourselves. For $500+ a night, we kind of felt like these things should be included.
Overall, we had a great time, and we would likely stay again. :)

We had a 3 family gathering this summer and everyone had a great time. The house has a 2 bedroom mother-in-law suite downstairs that makes for a good late night hang out room without waking up the rest of the house. The proximity to the beach and local access-way was fantastic. My only gripe was the lack of a BBQ. We made the 8 mile trip into town to buy one ultimately...Anonymous from McKinney - Posted: 7/9/2012
The Pelican's Place property is a very nice house with enough space for all 11 people in our party. My main issue is the fact that the television was out in the "apartment" downstairs. We had originally decided on another property but switched to this one after speaking with Patrick. I specifically asked about the number of television in the home and whether or not they have cable/satellite. I know this is not normally a concern on a beach vacation but we had two children under 8 and 3 men who wanted to watch the playoffs and my mother who was scheduled for knee surgery the next day and would not be doing alot of walking. My parents and another adult friend were downstairs in the apartment which has no indoor access to the main floor. Upon arrival there was a note saying this tv was out because of a lightning strike. It could be used for DVD only. This is information that would have been helpful upon booking especially since I specifically asked about tv. This made for a very unhappy mom. Additionally, the dumpster is quite some distance from the property. A place a little closer would be nice. Also, I asked, when booking, about the distance to the beach. It is a short walk but I was told that I would walk out the back door go 5 feet around the house and there would be the boardwalk. Now that does seem true for some other houses on the property but not for this one. Overall, we did enjoy the house but I felt I had been told a few things that were not quite true....Anonymous from Cypress - Posted: 6/11/2012
Overall a great home. The house has plenty of space and was great for entertaining. The staff was very helpful. Just a few minor repairs and this would be a stellar house. I think the maitenance man needs to fix small repairs (ie: window blinds, light bulbs out, screen doors hard to open due to sand and salt, etc.) Like I said minor things, overall a great house and location. Will be on the top of my list for rental homes next time I go there with my family. Port Aransas is exactly the type of area I plan on retiring in. People are very laid back and freindly.Anonymous from Rldridge - Posted: 4/27/2012
We stayed at the house for two days. The location is great. less than 2 minutes walk to the beach. Since we have kids younger then six years old, that is very important to us. Lots of seating area in the living room and huge deck is a plus. The only compliant that I have would be the AC unit. You can not turn it lower than 75, or the unit will freeze(That is what we have been told). so it is uncomfortable during the day since you can't cool down the house. Other than that, it is great.Anonymous from Austin - Posted: 4/24/2012
This was the perfect place for an adult family reunion. Plenty of room and great amenities. Although a distance from the marina and hub of Port A, it was very accessible and the beach nice and almost private. Loved our stay!Anonymous from Pilot Point - Posted: 4/24/2012
Celebrated my wifes 40th with great friends. House was awesome, everyone commented on what a great house it is and what a great time we had.
Thanks again Patrick!

Since we booked late, I feared that we might not find the perfect getaway home for the holidays, but this house was pretty close to perfect. Very roomy with a separate apartment downstairs. Very clean with a nice ocean view. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Truly a great escape.Anonymous from San Antonio - Posted: 12/11/2011
