The home layout worked great for our family. The small beach view from the upper floor is okay; otherwise, it’s looking at the dunes from the balcony.

But don’t rely on the very long boardwalk with many stairs to the beach if you want to carry anything. Get a golf cart or drive your car to the beach via the access road just outside the neighborhood.

Port A Escapes was very responsive when needed to solve a minor issue.

Problems with the Rental: The bathtubs were slippery and dangerous to seniors. One of them is installed backwards to the faucet and drained poorly. The sink in that same bathroom had poor flow of the faucet and drained slowly.
The positives: the rental is ideally located to the beach. But, the walkway that takes one over the dunes has many poorly constructed ‘features’. The Rental was clean when we arrived, but the large windows in the main room were very dirty.

The house was spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of room and the bedrooms were all spread out which was nice. The views were amazing from the large living room windows and on the porches out back. The house is in a cul de sac and it’s in a great location to the beach. We visited in October and the water was still warm enough to swim and it was not crowded. We will be back!!

Our Christmas Holiday was wonderful. We absolutely our stay. The vacation house was a perfect location to the beach. We rented a golf cart and our sons, daughter-in-laws, 2 grandchildren and even our pets had a magical time. We plan to return again.

Very good property and a great location. The beach access is outstanding and in the center of everything. The only issue we had was that the lawn had not been mowed for a while and the grass was very tall. This created a major issue with the ticks and we had to stay off the lawn.

We came here with our kids and grandkids. The house was nice and clean. Everything worked out well with plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The upstairs was a little hot but that is kind of expected in the upper part of a house. The only negative would be the view. The pictures on the website show a great view of the ocean but there are dunes in the way. The only view of the ocean was the upper room looking between the dunes. The picture on the website must have been takin on top of the platform that you use to get to the beach. Other than the view it was close enough to eating and to the beach which made it nice for all of us to pack up and drive down to the beach for the day. Overall a good value.

We were scheduled to spend a month here, but trip was cut short by the huge winter storm that wiped out power and water everywhere. Port A Escapes tried to communicate updates and warming and water locations. They were overwhelmed personally and professionally I’m sure, but we felt it was not the best response. Not sure I would want to be in town during hurricane season as things seemed ill prepared for disaster preparedness, or else keep your own stock of water and and essentials as renters. But once things started to come back online, Harry and staff were very helpful in moving us to another home that was fully functioning and prorated our stay. Worked out in the end, just know it might take some pro-activity on the part of renters.

We did enjoy this home for the week and a half we were there. Quiet location, close beach access (though the boardwalk was in need of repair and I often chose the nearby street instead), large living and dining room with beautiful wall of windows overlooking the dunes added to the peacefulness, and well stocked kitchen and linens (the multitude of blankets was a godsend). Be aware that upstairs bedroom does not have a door, opens direct to the stairs. But great views and my husband enjoyed as office space, though noise from downstairs and keeping two young kids away was often an issue.

If visiting in warmer weather, proximity to the beach and cool ocean breezes would be nice. A little too chilly to be outside much in February compared with being slightly further removed from the water. But we really liked the huge driveway and under house patio space for grilling, letting kids play and dig in the piles of nearby sand, and lots of fresh air and space during COVID times when that matters a little more.

We had a great time. Property is within walking distance of the beach, and close to stores in Port Aransas. We enjoyed visiting San Padre National Seashore, and several nice restaurants. January is a quiet time with not many people.

The house was in a wonderful location, short walk to the beach (there are a lot of steps in case that matters to someone) but it has beautiful views along the boardwalk! Our first trip to Port A and it won’t be our last! This home was lovely and spacious and in a great location. The boardwalk entrance was conveniently next door. Our 3 y/o twins had a great time climbing the stairs of the boardwalk and even walked the whole way to the beach! Maintenance, should you need them was timely! We had a mishap with locking both sides of the bedroom door & maintenance came right away to unlock it. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful birthday weekend getaway!

The house is decorated so well.
We had young ones and the way the porch wraps the back with railing made for safe play areas for the family to hang out.
Great options for walking to the beach or a quick drive on the beach access made it flexible for our group to come and go to our beach set up.
Highly recommend the rental for a quick vaca to the beach.

The house is prettier in person. Plenty of room for both me and my sister’s family. It was cool while we were there so we had no air conditioner and just wonderful sea breezes. The boardwalk to the beach is right next door and if we didn’t want to walk, the golf cart ride to the beach is less than 5 minutes. Great location to town as well and we were I. The protected part of the beach which means more beach as the barriers keep the cars farther back, we liked that.

It had plenty of space, but little room to put things like cloths for a month stay. It was a little too pricey for what the area offered for a long stay. While Port Aransas is a nice area, there’s not a lot of diverse activities available.

We went to Port Aransas for Sandfest and this house couldn't have served us better! Very spacious and got the ten of us very comfortably. Location wise, this house is perfect! It is right next to the boardwalk that takes you straight to the beach and lets out right by marker 16 which was then a short walk to the festival. Be prepared for the many stairs that make up the boardwalk, however. Also, if you plan on cooking anything that requires a cookie sheet, be sure to bring your own as this house did not have one. I highly recommend bringing your own pillows. The pillows in the house were very, very thin in a couple of the rooms. Overall, we had a great time and felt that this house fit all of our needs for a great value. Also, Port Aransas Escapes was excellent! Very outstanding customer service!

We traveled with friends and two dogs to Port A. Our experience was positive, the house was clean, well equipped and the pier to the gulf was close and convenient. The upstairs loft was a great retreat area but the futon bed was a disappointment, I would have made this the master suite if not so uncomfortable. The only other comment is that the cleaning fee was expensive $185 yet the check out instructions had us as the renters doing all of the cleaning there was even a clause that said any garbage left inside the house would be subject to a $50 fee. We are clean people and would have left the house nice but felt the cleaning fee was too much for what was asked of the renters.

I rented this home for some business clients and was very pleased with the place. Nice views, a boardwalk to the beach and the layout gives privacy but is all a few steps from the living and dining for gathering together.

We noticed upon entering that there were several lights out and one of the lampshades was broken, but we called and maintenance was there quickly and took care of all our needs. The management staff went above and beyond to make sure our unit was ready for our guests.

Five adults and two dogs stayed over Christmas and had a great time. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the whole house is nicely decorated. The 4th bedroom with bathroom upstairs has the best view and a private deck, but the futon was thin (wouldn't recommend for anyone over 25). We didn't need it for sleeping, so it was a nice additional hangout space. The boardwalk to the beach is just outside the front door--we would definitely come back!

My family (grandparents, children, grandchildren) really enjoyed our stay at Port Arkansas. The beach house was very comfortable and looks better in person than in the photos. I would recommend renting a golf cart for going back and forth to the beach.

My family and I stayed in this property over the 2015 Memorial Day Weekend. Let's start with location. The location was great in that it is on a dead end street with no through cars. Also, it is close enough to the beach to walk to using the boardwalk provided by the neighborhood. Finally, the property is located on the edge of town away from the numerous golf carts, walkers, and traffic. Next, let me describe the house itself. The layout of the house is decorated nicely with enough space for up to 10 people. Each room has its own decorative uniqueness. All the beds are comfortable and the dressers and closet space provide plenty of room for clothes. The kitchen has everything you could possible need and even more! You are able to see the waves from the upper patio and the second floor patio provides a nice large area to enjoy the sea breeze. We would definately stay here again!

4 nights, 5 days. We had a wonderful time staying at Tides Out II located at 815 Park Place. The house easily slept 5 people and accommodated 8 for Thanksgiving dinner. The house was nicely decorated and had a warm, homey feel. BBQ grill located in the carport is a little rickety, but served its purpose. My wife is asking me right now, "When can we stay there again?" and my answer is whenever we go to Port A! Be sure to rent a golf cart for fun!

Property wad clean however we did not like people who said they were from management just stop by and come in and check all rooms claiming they had to change air filter which they didn't even do. Great experience overall. The walk to the beach was a little bit longer than anticipated. The house would be great for six adults and four children, but having adults sleep on the futons (listed as sofa beds online) proved troublesome. They were quite uncomfortable. Having the area under the house was fabulous. We were able to play cornhole even in the heat of the day. All in all, it was a great trip in a great location!

We definitely enjoyed our stay here, it was a great spot. It's a quick walk via boardwalk to the beach, but we rented a 6 passenger golf cart (COULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS MORE!!!), so we used that. We used the cart to go back and forth to the beach (2min drive) and back and forth to town (5min drive). The house was great for 3 couples, 2 teenagers (upstairs futon room) and 3 small kids (various inflatable beds, etc). This house has 3 different areas underneath the main floor to hose down your stuff after a day at the beach which is very useful. The general condition of the house was good, no big issues. The house does not come fully stocked with paper towels, garbage bags etc, so you'll have to hit the store for that. There is an ant problem behind the sink in the kitchen. I did call management to get this fixed, they promised someone would be out shortly, but nobody ever came. We had to get some spray and use it throughout the weekend (no big deal). Some of the bedding was worn, the washing machine was "interesting", and the living room Direct TV didn't work. It wasn't a huge deal as we really didn't watch TV and the management company is aware and will fix it. Port A Escapes was very good to work with overall.

Any complaints I have listed were very minimal and really didn't hinder our time there. I would stay at this property again, we had a ball at this house.

We rented this property with three other couples and a single so had 9 people all together. The bedding description is a little misleading. There are indeed 2 "sleeper sofas" but are really only futons. Both futons are in the upstairs "bedroom" which is more like a 2nd living area. But all in all it was perfect. We will be back!

I recently had my family down in port aransas to celebrate my birthday. What was supposed to be 7 or 8 people turned out to be 13 people. And this house was perfect for all of us. We were all very comfortable and had plenty of space. It's right at the end of the boardwalk to the beach. Very pet friendly. And
Since its in a dead end street you don't have any traffic to worry about. And it's within walking distance to a convenience store.

Great location only a few steps from the boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. Beach is PERFECT for walking. House is cozy, airy & bright w/ a well equipped kitchen. We stayed there the previous year & and one could tell there was a little more wear but nothing major. Any problems & Poat A Escapes is right on it. For example, last year the vacuum broke & they brought a new one over the same day. We stayed there in Jan & Feb 2012.
